Beach the first day. Only objective. I knew in advance that this was a Russian holiday destination, but this is ridiculous. Lots of huge, fat, ugly Russians mixed with a lot of quite fat Chinese people, mixed with a bunch of better-looking, slim Chinese people. Nice. Apparently Sanya is a honeymoon destination, hope they didn't choose the Sanya …
Well, this day will just go with getting out of this dump. This morning I was even berated in Russian, but a fat pig of a Russian woman (sorry, but she deserves it), who balled at me in Russian, to which I replied that "you can shout at me all you like in Russian, but I don't ******* understand". Pleasant experience at breakfast.
10 hours …
Beach again on the third day, in short spells though, as I had no sun cream, and the locals (Chinese and Russian!) don't seem to bother. I could at least find nowhere to buy any.
Sanya, China’s Hawaii. Well, if so, count Hawaii off my list of places to go. Was it ever on it? My experience of this part of Sanya, Dadonghai – in a …
Second day, went to Binglanggu, or to give it it's full English name (Areca Valley Tourist Resort of Hainan Ganza Ridge Primitive Culture). The name says a lot actually…read on. Well, it’s a centre all about the ethnic minorities on Hainan. The historical aspects interesting. The site like any other (Chinese) tourist site. One notice …
Fame. Luxury. Private. Exclusivity : some of the things that the beach tries to obtain and it does have its potential. The water a beautiful mirror of the resplendent blue sky, the beach, though not as white as advertised, sure is thin and pleasant to the tender skin.
All the coast is being controlled by the different resorts and according to …
How has this resort rated in the past?
Hated it from start to finish. The single, only redeeming feature was that the air-conditioning worked really well.
(-) Breakfast - awful. Room - old, dirty, crumbling. Bathroom - awful, paint flaking off the walls, water never truly hot, toilet flushing awkward. Internet - is free in some rooms apparently. Just not mine. 60 kuai a day, and slow, slow, slow. Service - terrible. Woken to clean room! Kidding, no I'm not. At 9:15. The list of awfulness is endless.
Note: I stayed in the old, cheaper part. Apparently the new part (up the hill) is wonderful. I would advise anyone considering staying here to pay the extra 200 kuai and stay "upstairs".
