... last bus into town, as did our entire
flight. The queue for a taxi took nearly an hour. As we neared the front of the
line, a woman casually joined the line directly in front of us and looked down
at her phone texting as if shed been there the whole time. The Chinese are not
as polite or serious about queuing as the Britts, and the little royalists in
me wasn’t going to be having this. This had happened to us in the past in lines
... reattempt to head back into Haikou. The pool boy, Lou, helped us figure out
what was the right way to head into the city so that we didn't have a repeat of
our slums experience from the day earlier. Lou took our phone and recorded
simple phrases to tell the bus drivers as we got on, like I need to switch
buses at the next town, and please let me know when I have arrived had Ming Ju
We changed buses at the right times and

We had a lovely retreat on Sanya beach for 4 days. The Island is very tropical and mountainous.
On the 30 min drive from the airport to the resort we drove through several
lengthy tunnels presumably blasted through a mountain for the road. Like what I have seen of China so far, there is also a lot of construction going on.
... a brutal break-up with Shanghai and now only shows up periodically to return boxes of mementos from their formal marital bliss. I was so happy to see that the sun, is in fact, a polygamist and maintains a happy and loving relationship with other non-polluted areas of China. Whew.
