Despite the noise of renovations and occasional shower, Sanibel Harbour Marriott was a relaxing getaway during the off season. Poolside service was steady and the food was delicious. The lady in the shop was extremely friendly and helpful.
Day two was spent at the spa getting a massage and facial. The spa and fitness center was fully equipped and clean. The massage hit the spot and I felt rejuvenated after the facial.
During an afternoon rain shower, I enjoyed a couple of cocktails and a salad at Charley's Bar. The server was friendly and visited the table at the right intervals.
The executive suite was spacious and comfortable. There was a minibar in the room. The only thing that could have been improved was to have Zephyrhills water in it. It was served with room service but a different brand was in the room.
All staff from the valet to the front desk to the concierge were friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend staying here.

... RV Resort in Bonita Springs. We first learned of this place last spring when we stayed on Marco Island. This resort was yet to be developed and we watched it's growth from it's infancy. So this was exciting to have it be a reality to stay here. Tomorrow is another day of relaxing although there is a 70 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms so we may need a plan ...
... I will fly to Snohomish, WA, to spend the next 6 months (the nice ones) with daughter Melissa's family where my major duties will include working on my new apartment and running the farm's U-Pick Raspberry operation through the picking season (late June through early August). Corresponding to this, Maggie is heading to Wisconsin to spend the summer with her family. We'll hook up again in the fall for another adventure, maybe a cruise (ship) to ...
... and me to Washington. We both enjoyed our respective "vacations," then rejoined in Snohomish where I was "farm sitting" while daughter Melissa and family went to New York City for New Years at Times Square. Farm sitting provided insight into a foreign way of life for both of us: the continuous, cold, rainy weather, and short days reinforced a primary reason I choose to be away from the PNW in winter --- it's simply too depressing. Throw in the care of a bevy of two and ...
... one day in your outside pockets or purses that way. Use the hotel safes whenever possible. Cross body purses are safer than shoulder bag purses. Outside pockets with buttons or zippers make better deterrents for wandering fingers.
It's always smart to make a copy of your passport, immigration slip, credit cards (front and back with contact numbers), ID's etc. and keep them in a separate location.
... a moment of pure delight.
How many times I wonder do we miss the miracles right under our own feet in our search for the novel; the exotic?
This 4-gen journey to the Smoky's safely completed as was my brother's sojourn with his family on the other side of the continent... and we each return to our everyday lives, enriched by our adventures.
