Turtle Sands, Mon Repos
Visited Bundaberg and stocked up on local ginger beer before heading to our caravan park. We tried to cover up as much as possible and put a ton of insect repellant on as we were heading to the beach after sunset. We were hoping to be taken by a park ranger to see Logger head turtles come out of the sea to lay their eggs. After a two hour wait at a …

The fellas come home and we cook and eat.
And then Noah cracks on with work and Woody and I build stuff out of his toy library toy. I build a very impressive car from toy story but am beaten by trying to build a motorbike. I am a dog with a bone. Woody is happy to just build anything, so he just mutters encouragement and support to me and gets on ...

So Woody and I razz around and get some groceries and he pretty much makes really loud bear noises around the entire shop. I let him because to mother’s ears, bear noises are preferable to whinging and on a Friday afternoon – they are probably my options.
I go get Woody and ice cream and then we head home. Woody and Noah play and I make a scrumptious curry for dinner. Woody eats all the ...
Souperman

The fellas come back and Woody changes into his superman costume and then we are off to a birthday party. It is being held in a park and I have the address. On the way I put the address in the sat nav and I am reminded that the sat nav is still in flight mode so it cannot tell us where to go. I know it is in Southport, and I know it is on ...

Noah gets back to work and Woody seems very relieved that it is rest time. He goes to sleep with the minimum of fuss when I tell him it will just be a short sleep. Next, I mop the floors and Noah complains about the smell of vinegar from me mopping the floor.
We have to wake Woody as he has a dentist appointment. He wakes up in the most wonderful mood and points out to me that his ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Turtle Beach Resort Mermaid Beach
Super Turtle
We would recommend Turtle beach to anyone, we were here for four weeks feb/march 2003 and feb/march 2004 hopefully again in 2006,it is an ideal base for young families or wrinklies like us. The apartments have everything one needs and the facilities on site excellent.
Great holiday in July 2004
We stayed at Turtle Beach in July this year. A great place for kids and very safe. We also arrived late at night and found it to be a rabbit warren to get to our room. Once settled in everything was fine. Our apartment was well set out and very comfortable. Although we did find the beds very hard for the duration of the stay. Security was excellent. The spa was great but we found (adults) the swimming pools too cold to swim in, particularly the lap pool - didn't see anyone in that - far too cold.
Great holiday had by all and would recommend location to others.
A superb time
We had a superb time, the resort was everything it described. We did have concerns before we went because as a couple we thought the complex may be child orientated but we need not have worried. The pools were superb as was the service, every need organised. The safari trips into the bush were excellent.Loads of very good resteraunts near by and quiet beaches. In all an excellent holiday...we will return!!
Excellent facilities
My family of four stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in November 2003. The apartment was excellent, furnished to a high standard. The resort has very good facilities for a family with pools, tennis, BBQs and cafe. Underground free parking, shops across the road. It is self-contained and secure enough to relax and let the kids wander and swim. There is a sophisticated (read complicated) security system including a facility to release gates/doors via intercom to let guests/kids back into your block. We couldn't get it to work so it was either faulty or we were using it wrong. My only other complaint was the trouble we had finding our room when we arrived in the dark. The complex is huge, with dim lighting and hard-to-follow signage. It would have been nice to have been shown to our room the first time. Apart from that, an excellent stay. Would certainly stay there again.
Awesome...but!
Turtle Beach resort was awesome, the 2 bedroom apartment (self contained) had everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Friendly staff, good meals at the cafe. The only negative would be the $5 charge for the use of tennis racquets or putters. Their reasoning is that if they get broken they can get replaced, personally I think if people break them, they should pay. Other than that, highly recommended. Thanks for a primo holiday!
Can't fault it
Stayed at Turtle Beach Sept 2002 with our 2 children aged 11 and 8.
Rooms were imaculate and well equiped. Great place to come back to after a hard day at the fun parks. Wouldn't hesitate in reccomending it to anyone and we have done since our visit. Wish we could have brought back the cane lounge suit with us so comfy to curl up on and rest those weary legs
Great place to stay
Excellent place to stay. Lots of swimming pools and spas. two games rooms two gyms and a picture threatre there as well. Highly reccommed to anyone. Load of other things there as well. Great security.
Extra Costs
Loved the complex with the pools and the child friendly areas.
Everything fenced with children in mind. We were on the secomd floor so we had troube carrying up double prams etc. We also asked for a video recorder in the rooms and when we got there we were told it was extra per day, the same for heating and Air con. I found this a bitter pill to swallow as we had paid good money for accomodatioin and you expect everything to be included.
Very good but location of room inconsiderate
I went to visit my daughter who was holidaying from Sydney, alone with her three kiddies......the hotel was superb for this sort of traveller; The staff were very nice..... HOWEVER whoever allocated her this room needs to have more training: With three children between 2yrs and 7yrs she was put on the top floor at the back of the building. Besides being extra noisy for folk below, it was nigh on impossible for her to get up and down with bags, prams, and children without difficulty. She also was a prisoner once inside the room as she couldn't have the balcony door open, for fear the children might fall.....several floors down! I send this review not merely as a complaint but as positive critisism, apart from room location the hotel was certainly everything she needed.
Kind regards "Her Mum"
Fabulous place to stay
Loved our week staying at this resort. The unit was beautifully appointed with everything you could ask for. Our unit overlooked the pools which was great for us, having young children. Would definitely stay here again.
