... have baked me chocolate chip cookies to send with me when I go and they have made my entire trip ten times better. (Thanks everyone!) I was driving down the road, it finally stopped raining, and was enjoying my new Tom Petty CD at top volume. It was a great drive today. I loved driving along, headed west, watching the corn fields get more and more frequent on the side of the highways. Soon it was mostly corn fields, which I find very relaxing ...

... The dogs were picked up at 8:00AM and went on their merry way. We left to pick up two of Judy's friends before heading to the pick-up point at a local hotel. We boarded the bus and were on our way for a new adventure. We found ourselves in Macon, MO at Compton's Liquidation Center(the Warehouse) and were given about an hour to browse and shop. ... was a blessing in disguise.  Owen was able to spend more time with his grandfather, and family in general, than he likely would have if everyone was in good health. Top 5 moments:

    • Hayley driving in the U.S. (both with a passenger and by herself)
    • Shooting guns at Owen’s house on the 'range’ that Jordan and Bill made
    • Bratcher’s (local grocery store) employee remembering that Hayley bought puff ...

... so we do not know what the original place looked like, but the new place was rather sterile and lacked the atmosphere we are accustomed for a BBQ place. In spite of the lack of BBQ joint "ambience", the Q was not bad. Shirley had burnt ends (guess she has been converted since having them at BB’s Lawnside BBQ), and I had the ribs and meat plate. They were out of the baby backs, so I got the St. Louis style ribs (half a rack) and sliced brisket. We ...
