... It was clear from the view from the bus ride in that it wasn't our idea of paradise. Since the bus we were on was going on to Saigon, we decided to see if there were still seats available. And lucky for us, there were! So instead of a four-hour bus ride, we had a 12 hour bus ride and arrived in Saigon in that evening, with only a few pictures to capture our brief moments in Mui Ne.
Mui Ne, Vietnam rgreenwell630At nights here in Vung tao we have been meeting my cousin Hein and his family who have been treating us to delicious dinners. The star attractions have been goi (a type of salad with meat) always a hot pot, a fried rice dish, nem (springs rolls with salad) and shrimps....mmmm. It always a treat to eat with family as they know ...
Vung Tau, Vietnam knuspr... in charge of the stamp (a very important job) had left for lunch! SOOOO we had to wait until 1330. We had lunch at Highland coffee, where there were regular food for Stephanie and Stephane, went shopping for diapers at the local Plaza. The Plaza, a mini department store, was FULL of employees. Yep, there were only ...
Vung Tau, Vietnam lyamsjourney... will tell once I am back home!) The following morning we enjoyed our breakfast and set out again on our motorbikes back towards Vung Tau. On the way back we searched for the Binh Minh Caves. After about an hour of trying to find them, and having Jen's flat tire fix we found the road. On the way up the mountain we saw a Pagoda. Thinking it might be the entrance to the caves we drove up the road. We ...

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam jslabbee... enjoyed the ice milk coffee which is about 40% condensed milk. Nice cafes were all over central Saigon and good restaurants were plentiful as well. My favorite restaurant was Quan An Ngon, where I ate twice. It looks reminiscent of an open-air French villa and sits across from Reunification Palace. They serve delicious food at rock bottom prices. On the sight-seeing front there is plenty to do in and around Saigon. An interesting aspect of the country ...
Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam bcc8... We drove about forty minutes through the green fields of palm trees and tall green grasses, and a rubber tree plantation- with the trees perfectly aligned in front of each other, next to each other, and diagonally from one another- before we reached our restaurant on a river. We had to cross a bridge with canoe boats tied to trees on its banks and more plants floating in its waters to get to the dining room. We feasted on rice, vegetables, and pork ...
Saigon, Vietnam hayesbkGood day all (francais plus bas) Will start in English this time for our anglo friends Well a trip is a trip and you have to remain open to all that happens to you...none resisting is a meditation philosophy we had to apply. 1-Our day trip to AnThong National Park was cancelled due to rough water. We thought that it was because there were not enough passengers so we change our plans to go back to Bangkok that same day instead. 2 ...
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam forgetnadeau... left to find some food to eat. We find this really cute restaurant that had French, Thai, Mongolian, and Vietnamese food and figured we could all order a different type of food and share but we ending up liking our dishes so much only a few bites from each other's plates were allowed  While we were eating the boys walked by and came in to "see how we were doing". We think they were lost but they wouldn't admit it. BethAnne, Kelly, Meghan and I decided that we were going to ...
Ho Chi Min, Vietnam spkennedy808... next stop, Ba Nhat we tour their very simple showroom which displays an enormous assortment of Natural Fibers and basketry. For the length of a football field, one can stroll through shelves full of wicker baskets, furniture and decorative items. Looking around, I feel that I could be standing in the middle of a Pier 1 merchants' fantasy, although considering their business as of late, more likely a nightmare. The most interesting part of the entire operation ...
