Historical Traveler Reviews Barefoot Beach Resort Indian Shores

Great location, Great Value, Relaxing, Great Unit (E201)

    from

My wife and I took our two boys to the Barefoot Beach Resort for a week at the end of July '06.

The location is perfect. The resort is directly across from the beach access and it backs up to the Intercoastal Waterway. We spent time on the beach, in the pool and on the boat dock watching boats travel the Intercoastal Waterway. It's also right next door to the Salt Rock Grill - a wonderful restaurant. There are other restaurants/bars within walking distance or a short car ride.

I believe the condo units are privately owned. Our unit E201 was really nice. It had all the right furnishings and included some of the little things we did not think of. It was furnished with kitchen accessories, dishes, silverware etc... and even had beach chairs, umbrellas as well. It had digital cable with over 100 channels, built in DVR, DVD and VCR. One thing we really liked about our unit was that you could see the ocean from the front windows and patio area, but you could also see the Intercoastal waterway from the large windows in the back of the unit. Definitely request E201 if available.

It looks like the units are brand new and everything works as expected.

    We will definitely return,

Can't wait to Visit Barefoot Beach Again!!!!!!!

    from

Wow...what an amazing place to vacation.....not only was the Gulf just a short stroll away, but the peacefulness of the intercoastal waterways, luxurius accomadations and ammenities, and friendly staff at Baefoot Beach resort will have us coming back for years and years My wife and I rented a unit from TAS Properties and were thrilled with the way every little detail was taken care of and how wonderful our trip truly was. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the Florida sun, then I would highly recommend Barefoot Beach Resort. Cheers!!!

    Better than the Beach

    from

My family and I recently visited Barefoot Beach and enjoyed the intercoastal view from our first floor unit the most. My kids loved fishing off of the pier and my husband rented a boat and we were able to dock it right outside our door. This enabled us to take the boat out several times a day and enjoy both the ocean and the intercoastal waterways. We made stops from Clearwater to St Pete and enjoyed the boating much more than sitting on the beach and watching the boats from a distance. We plan on returning to Barefoot Beach again later this summer!! And again and again and again for many years to come.

The Florida "Have to stay in" Resort!

    from

There isn't enough that I can say about this resort. My husband, myself and our two toddler children loved our stay at Barefoot Beach. We stayed in one of the ground floor, waterfront condos and it was great. We all loved the pool (which was very close to our condo) as well as going to the beach. It was very easy to walk across the street to get to the beach and the kids has a wonderful time while over there. The most relaxing part of our stay was our evenings that we spent out on our patio just watching the boats go up and down the waterway. Barefoot is very close to several places to eat (which we went to quite a bit) The price couldn't be beat as well. It was just a perfect place for our family of four to get away from all the stresses of the "real world". The management company that we worked with were fabulous and explained the property exactly how it is. If you are planning on visiting Barefoot Beach Resort then I would check out the group at T.A.S Properties because they sure made our vacation very helpful. All in all.. we will for sure visit Barefoot Beach again.

    Loved the Barefoot Beach Resort

    from

The resort room was luxurious, spacious, and clean. There is a restaurant called Salt Rock Grill next door that is to die for. The grounds of the resort are beautiful like a tropical oasis. The pool is heated and the beach was beautiful with a large sand bar for lounging in the water. There were grills right outside the room for BBQ. Also there was a fishing pier and my husband was catching fish the entire weekend. The kitchen had everything you would have at home to cook up some fish. We stayed in unit number B-106 for 4 days and got a great last minute deal from the owners from vacation rentals by owners listing #92304. I am definitely going again soon and will recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time.

Wonderful stay and light on the wallet

    from

My wife and I had a fantastic time at Barefoot Beach. The rooms were much more spacious then those old hotels and were updated with granite and 18in tile throughout. It's much more of a relaxed setting then the big hotel chains and the value is amazing. Yes, you do have to cross a two lane street to the beach, but it's only 50 yards away. I'll mark Barefoot beach as a place to go often.

    Great Family Rental

    from

We really enjoyed our stay at the Barefoot Beach. From the outside they didn't look like much but we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door. Everything is new and clean. It is a perfect place for families. The pool area is great and the access to the beach is fine (although, children cannot cross Gulf Bld. without an adult). The only negative comments were the road construction directly in front of the building (there is just a lot of construction going on in the immediate area), and the need for a bill changer somewhere on the property for the washer/dryers. We were there with 6 other familes and we would all definitely return.

I'm the kind of person that stays at Barefoot Beach

    from

I stayed at this resort in Dec 05. We were in Florida for my brother's wedding and stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom 1 bath unit with my husband and 2 kids and we had a great time. We are in our early 30's.

The resort is managed/owned by ResortQuest which only deals with premier resorts and rental properties. I'm talking quality upscale condos, so I don't know the type of people the other reviewer was refering about. I guess I am one of them and glad to be. I have stayed in several RQ resorts and have met nothing but wonderful people. This is not a cheap resort nor does it look that way. RQ does not have cheap membership, I know.

The pool was large, the condo was clean & felt like home, the grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed ourselves at Barefoot Beach. We met some nice people of all different ages 20's to 50's. The fact that the resort was across the street from the gulf was no big deal. The intercoastal is right in your backyard and the gulf is in your front yard. I think it is what you come to Florida for and we will return.

    Okay at best

    from

These units are new but nothing special. It is extremely difficult to cross the street with small children. we split our last trip between a place on the beach and this unit and would rather have spent the extra money to stay on the beach. Not a good value but a nice place if you don't care about the beach.

Not what it is made up to be- we were disappointed

    from

Yea, it was ok. We stayed in a ground floor unit, it became very appearant as to the type of people staying here. Why would you go to Florida and stay accross the street from the beach? Especially when there are so many nice condos directly on the beach.... Well we learned why.... and it was not the price.

It was a bit of a hastle walking accross the street every time we wanted to go to the beach, and the pool was a bit small. The grounds were kept up ok. The unit was ok, nothing special- its a rental, right?

We would not return to Barefoot, it was not worth the savings- do yourself a favor- stay on the beach! We liked the looks of Sand Castle and Holiday Villas, but did not know this website existed or we may have been more educated.

Conclusion- we were dissapointed. The owner we rented from made it out to be this fabulous place- overselling no doubt. He should have bought a place on the beach........

One of the best things that you can do in order to slow down the aging process in your body is to eat fish. Fish contains omega-3 fatty acids that are proven to be beneficial to skin. With that said, try to add seafood to your diet as it is both nutritious and tasty.

It was a very unassuming place, but my oh my was the food there great ! Emma had settled on having ice cream for lunch and was served with a giant scoop of chocolate and rocky road. Chris and myself had a rib eye sub and Russ an Italian sub. All three of these scored a very respectable '4/5 Subs'. ...

We drank sangrias, ate a Cuban sandwich and Steve had his first taste of boiled peanuts. That pretty much took all day. Time sure does fly when you're having fun...and drinking.
