... open, in a deserted shopping mall, so we went in. It was just gone 8pm, so I guess we were lucky to be served: Jette was thrilled as it was a Japanese restaurant. Not a favourite of mine. Oh no.
The udon noodles were evil, like looking into a prehistoric swamp with eels cordling about.

Walking back later there was wet in the air, which probably translates as snow on the pass, which probably translates as Houston: we DO have a problem...

Little over 25 hours till Sarah joins our excursion! We're looking to head out early in the morning so we can ACTUALLY make it into Yosemite. Hoping it's well worth what today brought us! ... and we gracefully made our way up the mountain. The journey up was spectacular and encounter Ellery Lake (9538') still frozen was exciting. another lapse in planning failed to establish that this pass usually only opens in June because it is snow-bound. Mercifully it opened last week!
