Another incredible day out on the open road!

We left Panamint Springs behind and travelled through to Mammoth (a ski town up in the mountains). Had amazing views all morning as we rode parallel to the Sierra Nevadas (snow covered mountain ranges).

Morning tea was in the town of Bishop, quite a change to see so many people in one place compared to the last 24 ...

... to sell you stuff. It also has muscle beach, weightlifting on the beach. Its where Arnie became famous from working out on that beach. There were so many different types of people walking around. We rented rollerblades one day which was fun we went from venice beach to santa monica beach, and as usual i fell over!! but right on my bum my back hurt for weeks after that :(

... dinner and breakfast were fine. The options for vegetarian diabetics are limited so Gary settled for his first cat-fish meal of the trip. Luckily though he prefers not to eat fish, he does like it. It was a short walk down the main street from our hotel and both walking back that night and early the next morning there was frost in the air. Murpheys Motel was clean and pleasant and so unmemorable I had to look the credit ...

We were going to aim for the nearest town that we spotted on the map but luckily we checked the Lonely Planet that warned us off it. So we headed on for an hour to Lone Pine, the site for a number of western movies (not featuring Julia Roberts) and found a cool motel there that had put up some of the movie stars ...
