The drive to our Worldmark condo in Clear Lake was very beautiful. Rolling green hills with forests were everywhere. We arrived after traveling 17 miles of mountainous curves around 6 PM. We had already been on the road for six hours!
The resort is situated on Clear Lake, two and a half hours north of San Francisco. It is a Spanish Mission-style design. There was a pool, kiddie pool, a large hot tub and a dock/pier which you can walk out on the lake on.
Our condo was on the second floor of the building and had an upstairs master suite. Everything was clean and up-to-date. We had a tiny problem with ants showing up but just a couple. The grounds were well taken care of and the staff was very nice and helpful. I thought their idea to put cards with suggestions on what to do in the area by the staff was a good one. I wonder if they have a little competition with a prize to see whose suggestion cards get picked up the most.

The next day, as we headed toward Glen Ellen to meet up with the next friend, Shane & I stopped at a swim hole we were told about, right off the highway & enjoyed some play time in to water.
... don’t have the ethnic variety in Italy that we are use to here in the States. They pretty much stick solely to their authentic Italian cuisine. After three weeks, due to the lack of variety, it did cause some cravings for me. I missed ‘crunchy’ and spicy foods. And of course the ice, I really missed having large glasses of ice for my soda and water. The wineries are quite different then here in California. However, they are more family owned working ...
... Italy, I fell in love with it and truly desired to visit. I really wanted to be immersed in the countryside of Italy. Staying at a villa in a small village and going to the local markets and shopping for the freshest local ingredients, and then making something gastronomically fabulous back at the villa while enjoying it on the veranda with a glass of vino... well that just seemed like La ...
