... dunes behind it. And the beach was much shallower into the sea. David enjoyed another session in the Med. We drove up to Leucate and then to La Franqui to see what the coast was like and where the campsite was located. La Franqui is a lovely, small resort without the excesses of larger places. We liked it and can understand why Simon and Suzie choose ...

Another hot and sunny day. We left the 'car park' to move further up the coast. The landscape changes to a more tropical feel. Palm trees and flat countryside is the new scenery. We have decided to go to an aire at Latour-bas-Elne. It is a fabulous aire. It's situated behind a camping-car and accessory dealers. A busy commercial port, but also ...

We left the van parked in the baking sun while we took our customary walk in the hottest part of the day to look around, and it was certainly worth a stop. The centre is a collection of alleys, bridges, shops, cafés and churches - enough to entertain us for an hour or 2. The kids found a great sweet shop, and we managed to pick up the customary stickers for the van as ...

... lunch and enjoying the beach whilst the kids got to know each other. It turns out one of our neighbours had set up a tightrope, so the kids enjoyed trying that while Simon took his own personal tour of the campsite. We would meet up again a couple of days later in Collioure for some fishing with homemade rods and a walk round the town, which was beautiful. We even had time for a dip - the ...
