Never changed the alarm clock and woke up early for a breakfast. Then Coach Crawl to go through all the different units. We had a group shot photo. Then for a Soup Supper catered. Very hood homemade soup and desserts. Hung around for a little karaoke. Ate dinner with Jim and Nadine, Lester and Margaret. Pooped ...
... Sharky’s, a well known seafood restaurant on the beach in Venice. Mary and I found Sharky’s by chance several years ago on a driving trip through the area. Then it was a small, rustic beachside restaurant with a lot of character and great seafood. Now it is a multi-storied, glassed in, ultra modern restaurant with a Walmart sized parking lot for customers, much higher prices and food that ...

We arrived at Grayton Beach and found our campsite, went through our typical routine of setting up, and took a quick walk down to the beach to get a lay of the land. Everything was pretty wet as it had been raining there for a couple of days. We were about a quarter mile from the beach, which included a short walk past Western Lake and through protected sand dunes. As expected, the beach was beautiful and quite deserted due to the rainy ...
... back to Pensacola before Wednesday for less than four digits before the decimal. Therefore, realizing that I would not be back in time for work on Wednesday anyway, I decided that I would make something a bit more of the trip. I didn't want to leave early because I hate being away from Brendan as it is, and I'm not willing to give up any more of our vacation than necessary. So, since the game was Monday night and I wouldn't be able ...
... have the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Choctawhatchee Bay to the north. Sometimes we have hurricanes. They are very strong storms that come in from the Gulf with lots of wind and rain. When we find out that a hurricane is coming, we nail boards over our windows to protect our houses and we usually leave town. Fortunately, it has been a long time since we've had a ...

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed this resort. The pools were fun and the kids enjoyed the waterfall. The property is beautiful with lush landscaping. The outdoor BBQ was very good and the beach was beautiful.
I recommend this place especially for families.
Stayed at the Ramada Beach Resort last weekend. Upgraded to a suite when we checked in and was very disappointed with the rooms. Very small for 270.00 a night. The staff was unfriendly acting as if they were doing you a favor upgrading you to a larger room, no discount here. The front desk only activated our key for 2 days and we were locked out of our room , when I informed the desk, they told me I would have to come to the lobby to get them reactivated. I told them they should come and give me new keys. They never came. The housekeeper let us in. Even after all of this, I complained and the staff acted like it was our fault. (Because we upgraded our room at the last minute.) The pool with the waterfall and bar was nice, but the bar closed at 6pm. The beach was nice. Loved Fort Walton and Destin but will stay at another hotel when I return.
We arrived on a Monday afternoon, July 7th and stayed through Saturday, July 12th. We had stayed before many years prior and it wasn't as nice as we remembered but it had it's strong points. I will start with those. The beds were very comfortable. We had nice firm mattresses which induced great sleep. Even though the hotel was full, it wasn't very noisy as one would imagine. Considering we had our two children with us, the micro fridge was wonderful! It wasn't your run of the mill fridge either. It had plenty of room to be considered "micro"! The room had plenty of storage for a family of four to put away everything we brought. That was great! The housekeeping staff was very friendly especially one lady who, when making the beds, placed my girls stuff animals on the beds a top their pillows. I thought that was sweet! One thing I can say for certain...THE AIR CONDITIONER WORKS! We had to turn it off (kept on low) several times because we were freezing. Now, for the low points. The pool area by the grotto bar was very crowded during the weekdays. Some would lay their beach towels out at 6:30am to hold a spot and then not return until very "late" in the day. We thought this was very rude and it seemed it went unnoticed by the staff. The housekeeping staff was friendly but, it seems if you are there more than a night or two, you almost have to ask to have your room cleaned.
We stayed at the Ramada Inn Plaza Resort in April of this year and we loved it so much we are going back in August and taking our grandkids.
I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants quality at a very nice resort.
I loved the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort. So many things to do, so little time to do them. Me and my girlfriend found the walks down the beach so romantic and the hot tub was nice too!We definatly made our mark in Ft. Walton Beach and plan on coming back there next summer to get married in the hot tub and have the reception at the Grotto Bar!! All is welcome to come.
We recently stayed at the Ramada Resort (6/16/03 - 06/21/03). It was the first of many Ramada stays in two weeks. Although the weather did not cooperate, we found the hotel to be in the perfect place. It is right next door to the Boardwalk, which houses the Crap Trap Restaurant (wonderful), a night club, ice cream shop, etc. The gardens at the hotel was the best part. When we opened our door in the morning, all we saw was beautiful foliage and the sound of streaming water. It was great to have a choice of two pools. We would definitely stay there again.
I loved the resort.
I loved the Resort. It was so nice that we hardly ever left the resort on our three day vacation. They have tons to do... they have two swimming pools, ocean, two or three restaurants(can't remember),Bar, and a water park across the street from the resort. I am now going there every summer now and i would encourage you to go as well.
We stayed at the Beach Plaza Resort in April 2003. The pool area/courtyard was very nice. The heated pool was a necessity since the temperatures dropped during our visit. The waterfall pool is not heated so we were unable to try it out but I am sure it is a big hit during warmer months. The room was average but the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Good location and beautiful beaches.
I loved it; friendly employees, beautiful beaches, convenient location
I stayed here for the past 3 summers. My husband loves the convenience to the fishing pier. My daughter and I love the beautiful beaches. The employees were helpful and friendly. The facilities were in excellent condition. I would stay there again this summer if my budget could afford it (no vacation this summer for our family).
