... energy or maybe they had a low glycemic index. With that breakfast, I was able to hike 15 miles non stop and without even getting hungry. The trail stayed high on the ridge for most of the day, where from up above, lakes were visible. Eventually the trail took me to Deadfall lake, where I finally caught up with Cuban B and TooMuch. We had lunch here. Cuban B did 23 miles yesterday and plans to do 25 today, so he is about 5 miles ahead of us. ...

... ivy rash is not too bad. I have hydrocortisone cream already, so that will work. Arriving at the trailhead by 10:45ish, we started hiking right away. Knowing that we only had about 5 miles of downhill into town, we took our time breaking camp, not leaving until 8am. We made it down to Castle Crags State Park by 10ish. Cuban B, Too Much, and Myself called the shuttle service posted on the trailhead to pick us up ...

Today was a long day. We ended up being in class for about 12 hours today. We started the day by observing a "call" and how the whole EMS system works. The instructors created a scenario and ran through it as though they were EMTs. Afterwards, we learned about how to place someone on a backboard and a KED board. A KED board is a short board, used when using a backboard is impossible, say a ...

We wake up in Rosedale to a damp, rainy morning. This picture of Auggie Doggie sums it up: we are all kind of tired of this long drive. Today we have 1062 miles to go to get home. Ike thinks we can make it in one day, but I'm thinking it will be one more night on the road. I am feeling a little more confident that we will at least be home in time for ...
