      Today we head out to the desert. There are a few different routes we can take out to Palm Springs and we have chosen the longest, most scenic (i.e. less freeway driving).       ... Hotel - quite something - and then went to dinner at Melvyn's at the legendary Ingleside Inn. The Inn was built in the 1920's for the heirs of the Pierce Arrow Automobile Company and has 17 fireplaces. We split the Veal Ingleside and it was excellent.
