We woke this morning to better weather, sunshine and a few (welcome) clouds. We consulted the experts ( I asked Tracy! ) and decided to take a boat trip out to Whitehaven Beach. It is said to be in the top 10 beaches in the world and was lovely. We spent the afternoon walking and swimming and returned in time for dinner. We leave tomorrow morning …

We had mixed weather today, with a bit of rain, some clouds but when the sun came out it was really hot! We went down to the little town and found a man who re created our NYE photos which was good! We also went on a Sunset Cruise on a beautiful boat that belongs to the resort that was lovely. The Whitsundays are a hidden gem!

We flew the 2 hours up the coast from Sydney to the Whitsunday Islands. We are staying in a resort called Qualia, which is probably the most beautiful resort and sumptuous accommodation we have ever stayed in. Included in the package is our own golf buggy to get around the resort! Should be fun trying to get Tracy driving that! I think we will definitely enjoy a few lazy days here!

We were up early this morning to go out to the Hunter Valley and some wine tasting at a couple of the wineries down there. On the way we stopped off at the Australian Reptile Park where we saw some crocs and feed some kangaroos. Great fun. The wine tasting was good and we made some more friends over lunch too! It is really pretty down in the Hunter Valley but bloody hot!

... the wind grew stronger and we had to put the sail down. It started raining heavily and thunderstorms were striking everywhere around us. High waves were moving the boat in every possible direction and some people started feeling seasick. Fortunately, most of the group was in an upbeat mood and the crew was amazing. After 2 hours of sailing in the storm, we reached a natural harbour in the middle of an island, which was protected from the waves and the high winds. We ...
