According to the www 150 people die annually after getting bonked on the head by coconuts falling from trees, while only 15 die by shark. We were walking from the beach restaurant area at Posada Arco Iris when a falling ...

    Day 16, Roatan Honduras

A 10am dock this morning at Roatan, another new island for us today, we have never been here before. The first thing we noticed was how green everything looked from the ship. At one point it rained whilst the sun was in full blaze but ...

Another excruciating day on the tropical island of Roatan. We had to be up by 10:00 to meet those from our group who were going snorkelling so we slept in pretty much until we had to go. We both seem to have gotten the bug that has been going around the rest of the group. It hasn't been near as bad as some of the others had or stopped us from doing any activities, more of a nuisance so the sleep in did some good. The snorkelling was really good and we didn't have ...

... road I pass through the "main strip" where a couple of locals are already sitting on benches at the side of the road, cracking jokes and getting ready for the day to start. A tuk tuk honks at me, the driver eyeing the lone pedestrian in hopes of a fare, before speeding off in disappointment. As some wondering crabs scuttle out of my way, I keep walking, Macklemore in my headphones, past a number of quiet homes, past a ...
