For the price, it was a great deal. Beautiful and away from everything with all the comforts of a hotel.

... in the 'tourist class' as the 4-sleeper cabins were all booked out. Our section was a massive room with hundreds of bunk beds in it and the air con was on full blast. We froze the entire night. It was a very interesting experience, but one that we do not wish to go through again! Needless to say, we were very happy to be on solid ground again. And that we had flights booked for the rest of our trips in the Philippines! Moral of the story: Listen to ...

... Next day was spent on the beach, doing the same stuff except frisbee as stupid dog broke it yesterday. Damm mut!! Relaxed all day, Mr Edward didn't show up, had a few beers during sunset and the evening. Linda is thinking about getting her yearly tattoo after a few 'Tinduay Ices' . Roseary beads round her wrist this time, but we will see if its still a good idea in the morning! More beers later i decide i have better skills and imagination from the tattooist so i ...

we had been slacking on walking practise we decided to do the five
miles to Puerto Galera town. We hadn't factored in the 34C heat and
battering humidity or the fact that a good three of the miles were
uphill and got a good idea of what will be in store for us in a few
weeks time. Erm, blisters and heatstroke. Luckily a good part of the
walk was through shady forest areas and with the friendly locals and
random animals it made for quite a ...

... filthy, rat ridden hole. As I looked toward the end of it though, I saw a group of adults socialising in the middle of the street, sat around in a circle. The two little girls were playing nearby and the bags they'd carried previously were now set down beside the circle of men who were gaily helping themselves. I wasn't sure whether to be shocked or relieved. Shocked that the Filipino's sent youngsters across a busy main road for their own pleasures ...

... but below was rather calm. Easy to spend time poking around. The were tons of schooling fish and lots of interesting critters. We saw the largest nudibranch we'd ever seen. Normally these things are a couple of inches or more long but this was big and fat the size of a softball. And it was a creamy white with dark brown spots. There were nudibranchs in lots of colors and, even though most are small, we're getting good ...
