The wind howled and rocked Scooby all last night. We all thought we were going to be blown away! Caught the bus into Tarragona, which the LP sells as an eternally sunny port with lots of interesting Roman sites. Well being a Monday all of the sites were closed but we did manage to view the amphitheatre from the road and wander ...
Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands darrenhough74The plan was to go to a little village on the outskirts of Tarragona - Altafulla but it didn't really tickle our fancy and nothing open so went a bit further south to Cambrills. On arrival I noticed that there were some waves off the beach which were probably surfable. As we drove further along the beach the waves got bigger and then I saw a few guys out there surfing. Excellent!!! I pulled over and said I was going in and the girls would have to occupy themselves ...

We got to another beautiful beach where we relaxed watching the sun set, listening to chilled music whilst drinking a cold beer in a beach bar. Then something hilarious happened. A small boy (2-4 years) came over to Alex with just a shirt on. The boy swayed to the rythm of the music staring intently at Alex holding his bits whilst licking his lips. Shocked and confused Alex ...
... and it almost made Alex sick (see picture on Facebook).
Then we cycled another 30 miles down the coast where we fell asleep on another beach. It really sounds cool waking up on beaches alot but you normally wake up about 10 times in the night with ants all over your face or a massive tractor a few meters from your head. Fact: beaches are cool in the day and for the begining of the night but they are rarely cool to sleep on at night.

We meandered through the Gothic Quarter and after getting ourselves a little lost, we took a cab and headed to the Sagrada Familia. A lot of Barcelona’s buildings in the Gothic Quarter date back to medieval times and there are also notable examples of Modernist architecture. One of the finest examples of the ...
... Since arriving in Barcelona I have enjoyed the rollercoaster so far. My family is a couple in their late 30's. We live in a small but homey apartment. Their names are Judith and Roger. I gave up being a vegetarian over here...and have been paying dearly for it...but I have been lucky enough to find sanctuary in a few local restaurants....so a few days a week my stomach and mouth find peace. Days so far have been: a few hours of classes ...
