As far as Indian capitals go, Trivandrum is about as quiet and calm as it gets. The Keralan capital is located amidst bright Hindu temples, Catholic churches and tall green coconut palm trees. The place is easily manageable on foot and one really notices the fact that there is a better standard of living here when compared to neighboring Tamil Nadu or Karnataka.
