60th Birthday on the Ocean

Juice's Corner:

WELL… today was our first full day on board. First off, the breakfast was DELICIOUS!!! Then mum and me went to a Tuscan Pasta making demonstration. The pasta was really good. Then after that we went to this shopping thing….VERY BOORING! It was one long commercial. So we met up with Dad and Jarod and went to Johnny Rockets for lunch… It was filling. Then we went to the arcade. Woah. I won the claw game twice. (pretty good eh?) and ...

The Real Bahamas

About 40 miles south of Paradise Island and an hour boat ride via IslandWorld Adventures..... we reached Saddleback Cay, a part of Exuma Islands. This is another out island adventure ..... i will say the best so far I had from Nassau.

Lemon shark feeding shoreside in a ...

Stingray Welcome

On our way to the island tour, we were welcomed by a friendly stingray and gave us the experience of being suctioned by its mouth as we tried to feed him. But then, he realized that we don't have any food for him so eventually, he left but gave us the knowledge of not fearing them. They are gentle creatures of the sea.

Shark Feeding

A different kind of experience... feeding shark in broad daylight.....shoreside.....

Free port has one at Pier One, but you are like so high above the waters and in the evening. So all you are seeing are but splashes made by the shark as they feed.

Here, you will see the entire length of the shark under the very crystal clear waters, just one meter high.

... into the middle of the cave. It's like an underwater cavern with a few holes in the roof, one large and suitable enough for jumping through, which Pete, Tom and Sarah did. Inside there are a few chambers and a couple of ledges to sit on but what's really cool about this place is under the water. With clear blue water you could honestly think you're swimming in a large aquarium as hundreds of fish swim about. Then with like a six sense they surround you until you produce your food, in ...

... floor of the dinghy with my feet in the air as I slid towards Pete who between fits of laughter was dodging waves and the oncoming regatta sailors in the middle of a race. As these small sailboats with about ten crew on onboard, looked at the strange shrieking coming from the dinghy and a pair of legs scrambling in the air. Not my finest hour, in fact Pete says it reminded him of my mum screeching "Richard" at my dad as he put her through the similar torments. Must be genetic ...

We came in through Big Rock Cut in front of Big Majors which is a popular anchorage. However, we saw a large sailboat sitting on it's side - obviously not a happy anchorage for that boat and I think it just happened last ...

Bonefishing on the fly is exceptional in Pigeon Creek, and also in Smith Bay to the South and Orange Creek to the North. Restaurants & bars serving local fare (lobster, conch) are nearby. 50+ photographs of Cat Island and the "Boathouse" at www.catislandboathouse.com

... a sea of blue anonymous domes ! Instead of an end to a very mediocre day in the carribean, it turned out to be a sharp shower that chased the clouds away and at last we saw sunshine ( ditch the violins and cue orchestral music ! ) This was more like it, the surf was still high, but at least the sea was turquoise again. Toby had great fun, a stingray got blown in at one point. The other 2 kids abandoned the island way before the storm to go back to the ship with ...

... right in front of me appeared a huge silver Barracuda. Initially I thought it was a Wahoo (the relative of a Barracuda that we had been eating in the Galapagos Islands! however, as I stood rigid I remembered that I had seen a picture of a Wahoo and it wasn't the same... then it hit me... **** it had to be a Barracuda!! Stupidly I wanted to get a picture and I swam close behind the almost stationary fish and snapped away... then I lost my nerve, turned ...
