Great place to stay, especially for families. A daily resort charge but there is a water park, golf, tennis, spa, and a ton of pools. The grandkids enjoyed the water park (you can get extra passes for guests) where we spent most of our days. We ate the buffet one evening at the Cascades, right in the water park which was OK. I was told they will be renovating next year to update the facility, which is good. My king suite was nicely appointed (towels are huge) but was showing its age. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Bad: Cleaning the room next door (vacuum) at 10:40 p.m.! Was told this was not unusual. Lots of hills to walk but they do offer shuttle service if needed. Parking is at a premium.

Our stay was great. A few pools/ hot tubs throughout the property to explore. Some hot tubs were not hot, they were pool water luke warm. The property is fun to walk around. HIlls and rocky.

When we left for Phoenix, we did not realize that by driving 116 miles North we would be leaving the wonderfully warm sunny weather of Tucson and entering the desert furnace. I've always heard that it is dry heat, so it does not feel as hot as Dallas, but with temps over 100 every day we were here it was really hard to tell any difference. It was just hot as hell.

Phoenix is a big sprawling city like Dallas with lots and lots of shopping ...

          ... 7th--last week's atrocities, not this week's.

I've landed and gotten my car and driven (on the left side) in typical English rain to the southeast and Canterbury. I wasn't really aware that it was quite this close to Dover and the Channel Tunnel (the Chunnel) to France--just 20 miles or so. It's fascinating that what was the major medieval pilgrimage site was located just barely inland. More to explore tomorrow. ...

... Once I found that out, I was ready to shop some more but it was time to pick up Bob at the golf course.

I pulled into the parking lot at the course and waited with Fran and some other "Canadian wives" for our husbands to finish golfing. By this time it was after 5 and was getting pretty dark. Bob was in the first group to go out and only got 16 holes in before they had to call it.

Tomorrow we attempt the TV project.....

Feb 24th-Monday- A late start to the day and I did a bit on the yard on the other side of the sidewalk and used the rest of the white rock and some of our sea shells from MA. Later we drove to Gold Canyon to see some open houses. They started at $89 Thou ...

May 10th-Friday-Ahhh. A good night's sleep! Up before 9 and fixed pancakes for breakfast. We had plans to go grocery shopping this morning, but did not happen. Finally, after noon, we did head out and first stop for me was the bank to deposit the check for my totaled van and then to Phil's bank. Next to a Chase bank where I PAID OFF the balance on my new Subaru Forester! Now it is all mine! Then to San Tan for wine and groceries. Next stop to the Subaru ...
