Less than a two hour flight to Phoenix with Southwest Airlines. It is warm here! Well, about 17 degrees Celsius. We picked out our mid-SUV Chevy Captiva. 10 minutes’ drive downtown and we found a stretch of cheap motels in a reasonable area. We picked one ($50 per night), dropped our bags and headed downtown looking for a supermarket to do some grocery shopping and find a laundromat. We were both a little grumpy, so decided to stop in a lovely ...

... and to inform their design so that it appeared in accordance with the natural landscape (organic architecture, which appeared in harmony with the surrounding landscape was Wright's main design philosophy). In addition, Wright believed that you learn by doing, not by sitting in classes studying theory. So from day one he had his students designing, and the desert surrounding the property provided the perfect opportunities to ...

... back on the bus and head north to Bacalar which is where we have to pay the bus fare. We get to the bus station and try to ask if there is an ATM nearby but no one understands English and we can't speak Spanish. Fortunately, the bus drivers were great about trying to understand us. Using hand signals and a few Spanish words that we knew, such as dinero, and showing our credit card, the bus drivers were able to understand we needed money. They got us ...

However, it is cheap, very nice inside and has a pool, which was very much necessary in the 43C heat. Whilst relaxing by the pool, an American guy on business preceded to tell us his life story for the next 2 hours whilst Jake and I ...

... Airport. Even though it was rush hour we had no problem and I was soon lugging my bags inside. I say lugging cause my big one was 49.5 lbs and my backpack was 22lbs! That is a load for an old lady! I guess I bought too much, but I had summer stuff to bring home and I cleaned out my unused things from the house and I bought a salt stone lamp that weighed 5.5 lbs. Uneventful flight to first stop in Maryland with a 1 hour layover and then on to Indianapolis where Sue and Chick ...

Our stay was great. A few pools/ hot tubs throughout the property to explore. Some hot tubs were not hot, they were pool water luke warm. The property is fun to walk around. HIlls and rocky.
