Tables are cleaned by putting all the dirty plates in a big plastic basket. This time we liked to have something as desert. So we decided to try out a Thai Roti what was really sweet but very nice. And we even took the less sweet one with resins. The person before me she took one with butter, jam, sugar and condensed milk on it! ...

The main occurrence of the day was going to see the Queen Mother's home and garden along with an exhibition about the royal family from her perspective. ... It is a very laid back place with some interesting bright grafitis, and a good place to meet some other travellers. A good way to finish the night and my stay in Chiang Rai.

Overall, Chiang Rai is an interesting little place. Smaller and more relaxed than Chiang Mai, but still offering some good activities. I focused on those I could reach by public transport, but you can easily visit a Minority Village or the infamous Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos share ...
