We took a ferry from railay to phi phi don. A tail boat then took us to our hotel .. Phi phi the beach. We booked a villa on a hilltop. This was our only extravagant stay for 4 nights . I was so excited. They picked us by golf buggy and took us to our room. Our room was situated 2nd to top of the hill. When we got inside we were so happy. The room …

Phi Phi Islands

A travel blog entry by mmplescia

We took a ferry from Phuket, not nearly as nice of an island as we thought, to the Phi Phi islands. The main island everyone stays on is Phi Phi Don. The water is clear the sand is soft and white. Its a perfect place to be. Our hotel is a little bungalow on the hill that overlooks the water. You can see across to Phi Phi Lei, an island that is a …

It even rains in paradise!

We woke up this morning at 6am, looked at the torrential rain outside and rolled over and went back to sleep - Maya Bay can wait until another day!.

Walked along the coast path to the next bay - Laem Tong, where there is a sea gypsy village. This sounds wonderfully romantic and picturesque - but it isn’t - they seem not to …

    5 star without the tackiness!

    from

My partner and I stayed there last year for three nights, this was way to short a stay. it was better than anywhere else we stayed in thailand by far. The staff were unbelievably friendly and food out of this world!! the infinity pool and pool bar were faultless. one of the best parts was being able to rent our own speed boat from the beach and travelling to all the best snorkelling spots where the driver would say "ok - jump off!" and what was under the water was magnificent! The only slightly negative thing was the price of the spa treatments, these seemed even more expensive than in Australia. but still, who can complain when the outlook from the spa window was the gorgeous ocean and palm trees!

    An island within an island

    from

We stayed for 4 nights, and can't say anything bad about the place. We had a 17 month old baby with us and while we ate dinner or lunch or breakfast the waiters wanted to play with her, leaving us to enjoy the food and relax. Everyone was fantastic with the baby! They told me that next year they will have a kids club.

    Fantastic

    from

Stayed in a deluxe bungalow. Sadly, there were only 20 bungalows occupied. The beachfront studio is EXACTLY the same as the deluxe. The superior is smaller, however. The villas are two story with a private pool and check in on their own hill (there are four of them). The reason I know this is because Chao, the general manager gave me a private tour of the hotel.

    Paradise- all around

    from

We stayed there for 4 nights for our honeymoon. It was at a discounted rate of $150 for beachfront bungalow.

The grounds are very big, it has its own private long beach with great sand and shalow water.

The bungalow was great, well kept, clean, had its own balcony and its semi-attached outdoor-covered lounge area.

The service was great and people were so nice.

Pool was amazing, big, with in water bar, and lounge service. great.

The spa was amazing on the hill, but expensive...approx $40 for 1 hour massage.

    Food was great.

    May day trips available.

We heard that it is generally more expensive than what we paid.

You can only really get here by boat from Tonsai Bay (20minutes)--you can walk, but its far.

    Paradise.

    This resort defines paradise

    from

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was at the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort and Spa. In every detail, it truly is what I dream of when I dream of paradise. Getting there is not easy, but I'm thankful that's the case because it contributes to the unspoiled nature of the resort and island. After flying to Phuket, it's a 45-minute van ride to the ferry, a 2 1/2 hour ferry ride to Koh Phi Phi Don Island, and a 30-minute ride on the resort's long-tail boat around the island to the resort itself (there are no roads on the island, so the long tails are the only mode of transportation from place to place). The transportation is unglamorous and does not signal the luxury and pampering that await you at the resort. The moment you step off the long tail (and wade through the water), you are handed a cold washcloth and a frozen pina colada while you sit on the porch overlooking the ocean. Flowers are floating in large bowls everywhere, and the Thai hospitality is unparalleled. Everyone greets you by name, fresh flowers are placed in unexpected places (including all over your guest room, a beautiful bungalow), the food at the restaurant is SUPERB (and prepared to my specifications, even when I diverged from the offerings on the menu), the pool is incredible (and features a swim-up bar, a vanishing edge, and a waterslide!), and everyone is waiting to pamper and serve you and treat you like royalty. The spa is a magical place where you are pampered in a beautiful room or your own small house with soft music playing. During my appointment for a facial, I was given a massage and had my hair brushed...it was so much more than a facial! I truly, completely relaxed for four days here, and also experienced the underworld of the Andaman Sea during a sea kayaking and snorkeling adventure. The one annoyance was the abundance of very hungry mosquitos, especially at night. Bring very, very strong bug spray and wear it all the time! I am from the U.S. and don't even get bitten by mosquitos in my own country, but my mosquito bites in Thailand were incredibly swollen and itchy, and are to be avoided at all costs!

Most beautiful place I've ever been to

    from

Just returned from our honeymoon in Thailand. We spent two nights at Phi Phi Island Village and it was absolute paradise! It's a beautiful resort isolated from other hotels and towns. Right from the start, they take care of you, as you are greeted with a welcome drink. The bungalows are very clean, nicely adorned, and definitely make you feel like you are in a pampering tropical resort. The beach and pool are both beautiful! The food is good. There is a gift shop, safe deposit boxes, and internet access near the front desk. We took advantage of their spa, and it was amazing! We were a bit sunburned, so we tried the cucumber and aloe wrap before our massage. It was sooo soothing! Overall, this is the most beautiful place we've ever stayed. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Thailand.

    Chilled out island paradise

    from

We spent a week on Ko Phi Phi Island Village in December 2003 - although we don't normally "do" resorts, we found it a perfect spot to chill out - and plenty to do both within the resort and on organised trips. A day trip to explore Maya Bay (location for The Beach) was well worth it.

    Paradise getaway

    from

I visited Phi Phi Island last year. They just completed the renovation of the entire property. The room we stayed was perfect. It was very roomy, clean, and very comfy. The beach was beautiful because Phi Phi Island has its own private beach. The water is so clear you can see your own feet The staffs were very friendly and helpful in any way. The food was also excellent. Don't forget to try their "seafood samplers".

I would recommend any of you to check out this resort before you make your decision. You can't go wrong with Phi Phi Island

    The perfect spot in Thailand

    from

The Phi Phi Island Village Resort is the place to go when looking for something special and romantic. We were in Phuket and hated it, so ventured out and found this gem. We did not want to leave it was great. The service is outstanding, the food is excellent and the cottages are really special. We would go back in a minute. Excellent spa and pool area as well. They are under a bit of construction which ends by Christmas but we did not mind as the place was fantastic.

    Glorious destination in Thailand

    from

This is a great holiday destination in Thailand .We went at Christmas ,and met our 3 -20+ year old children at the Resort. One Bungalow for them one for us!! This is a wonderful example of Thai service with a smile.Great food, weather, pool, massages,

and beach at high tide{pool comes into play at low tide}.We stayed in deluxe bungalows-fantastic and all the little extras too.A good idea is to take the Resort speed boat to have more time at this idylic paradise in the sun. It's stunning and we will return.
