Here we are in Mykonos -and it couldn't be more perfect! The weather is fabulous - not too hot and not too cold - and the scenery is breathtaking! Our hotel is incredible - very chic and modern and close to the beach, the bus and the claique (the little boats that take you to other beaches).
Our rooms look out on the bay - so sitting on our balcony is a major pastime! Tonight we headed to "Blue Myth" for Greek Night where we all got up and danced - Greek style! We just met one of the ...
And we literally went there! After a leisurely breakfast (we'll take pictures tomorrow - you won't believe it!) - we headed to the (very wet) boat ride to Paradise Beach. We relaxed on our loungers with all the other beautiful people :-).
After a quick work out and a "beer on the balcony" - we headed into town for dinner! What a crazy town - it was crazy busy - and we got lost more than once!! Where do all these people come from?
Can it get any better? Perfect weather with a warm breeze... We sleep until we rise - 10 am! Bella has never let us sleep in this late! Breakfast on the terrace (check out the picture!) - and then we spent the morning by the pool (far more civilized than the beach - they bring frozen fruit out for one's....)... Now we are off to lunch - at 4 pm... so dinner will be right on time at 10!

A late start to the day seems the norm now... After "breakfast" at 11:00 - we headed into town to see the rest of the city. Along the way met new locals - pelicans!! Quite funny as they wobbled through the narrow streets like they were shopping too!.
A moment of madness made us decide to rent 4x4 bikes - they are hilarious!! We headed into the interior of the island (actually an error - we were trying to get to Elia beach) - to see rural Greece and finally - after about 45 minutes - w...
With our 4x4's we headed to the hills - actually to Super Paradise! The machines had some energy - but some of the hills were so steep that the passengers (Amanda and Sarah) had to get off and push! What a sight!
We had lunch in a traditional taverna - where you can go into the kitchen to have a look at the food - and make your selection there. Our last night in Mykonos,.... Boo hoo....

... close to the marina that has music coming from it. I ate a lamb dish for dinner and since the Greeks eat dinner very late in the day and will frequently make an evening of it, it wasn't until close to 11 PM that we left the taverna.
I went back to the yacht to dress in my club clothes and to go to one of the few dance clubs that remained open over the winter. Although it wasn’t packed, the club was still a lot of fun and we had a great time.
... beautiful place with the village full of white-washed buildings scattered around a maze of little streets and alley ways. Just at it seemed that Santorini was made for couples, Mykonos was make for singles and the party life. This is one place that I want to return to again.

By mid afternoon, The Ruby disembarked Mykonos in order to hit the sea and arrive in Istanbul, that city of two continents and many cultures, by tomorrow morning. We're most lookin' forward to the former city of Constantinople!

How on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
