Woke up when we wanted, ate when we wanted, napped when we wanted, swam and laid out by the pool with our books. It was pretty fantastic. A couple of days after Laura arrived when we had another rest day from soccer, we decided to hire a guide to take us to Pipa. Our driver was great, but this other guy who worked for the same ...

So this one driver, instead of turning back and heading home the long way, backed up a bit, and shot up this really steep ...

... draped in a Costa Rican flag on my other side taunting the Uruguayans and the Italians because the Ticos beat both of them! I had sincere fear that were going to die! We got to our seats and once again we were lower level right behind the goalie. Perfect! The game starts and Uruguay fans are exploding with energy! Italy had a pretty good size showing as well! Sure enough, right out the gate Italy takes a couple of dives, and Bruce stands up with his ...

I waited somewhat patiently all day for the game. When Jamille got home, the waiting became harder. Then our taxi didn't come to pick us up at Nayara's. So we walked a ways and then got on the bus. The excitement grew as I saw more red, white, and blue and heard more sentences that my mind could fully comprehend. We met some guys from Nebraska outside the gates. Inside I met a guy ...
