... of Manning the horse. Elaine is one of Beechmont's 'characters', having lived in the area for decades and still an enormous bundle of energy. She always has something else that she really needs to do but is able at the same time to spend time talking to you. Her pride and joy is Manning the horse who lives in a field close to the chalet we stayed in. Manning was a gift to her some years ago, after she had offered to look after him when the owner had to work away from the ...
Beechmont, Queensland, Australia jenandtony... three days have been busy! Saturday as said before was spent riding a tandem and it was awesome!! The sun was out and we found lots of coves barely touched by the locals! We tried to spot whales out on the horizon, thought we had but 10 minutes later discovered it was a boat :( Had some amazing steak for dinner then headed out of manly for sydney on the ferry and boarded the bus for a 12 hour drive ...we never ended up stopping at coffs harbour at 5 ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia natandaidanIt only took a few hours to get to Byron Bay. I was under strict orders from Caitlin (the younger sister) not to arrive before ten am, under the threat of severe beatings, nail pulling, and even the potential loss of any of my vital limbs........<br>If I was to reach Byron Bay to wake her up at eight am I needed to leave Brisbane by at least six, there was no way I was going to pass up one last opportunity to prematurely wake her and drag her out ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia meadm... before going to Noosa. Unfortunately having to separate from the 3 lovely girls I've been traveling with as they have longer to travel so stopping off at another place before Brisbane. But it's been great fun and we'll definitely have an Oz reunion back home! There's not a cloud in the sky today, so we're hoping that this gorgeous weather will continue up the coast! Hope you're all well, loads and loads of love xxxxxxxxx
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia annaobeirne... showing off, partying and getting suntanned. After a long night of 14 hours on the Greyhound bus (on which everyone except for me seemed to be sleeping) we arrived in Byron Bay at 9h00 in the morning. The hostel that I had booked wasn't really a hostel, but more a holiday park with all sorts of accommodation; bungalows, private rooms and also dorms. This time I shared my room with 2 English girls, a Canadian girl and a girl from Switzerland ...
Byron Bay, Australia saskiab... because Aussies spend so much time driving across this big ass country of theirs), so I should be okay. One of the places I stopped today was Mount Warning National Park, which was fun. I believe the mountain is called Warning because this area proved problematic to Captain Cook and his men when they came here, but I can't remember where I read that so I can't double check. I should be keeping a far more detailed ...
Nimbin, New South Wales, Australia suzloua... had a good evening out enjoying the revelry and drinking the highly recommended Byron Bay ale. I also saw my first (wild) snake of the trip, I don't know if it was poisonous or not and I defintely didn't plan to stick around to find out. We hoped to stay a bit longer in Byron, though left sorting accommodation a bit late so were out of luck, so north we go after three awesome days of sun, sea, sand and surfing

Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia ronia... place with very suggestive gestures and, of course, without saying a word. And, coming back to their fur, no their fur is not soft as we might think when looking at pictures; it is actually very coarse to the touch, more like a wire dish scrubber than wool. Nevertheless, they are very cute and funny-looking. Oh, and did we mention that they can be quite fast? The park also had a wide range of other animals and birds including many parrots, and one of ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia gapostol... was a completely hilarious and well, lets not even get started with the sleeping part. It turns out we both have quite extensive imaginations when we hear a bump in the night. But, with the first night over and the two of us still alive, we packed up the awning (20 mins) and hit the highway. We decided to stay at Dorrigo, a mountain town, just west of Coffs Harbour for two nights. It was soooo cold at night, it got down to 7 degrees in the van, so I ...
