On the 3rd September we took a boat over to Phuket using our return ticket and whilst I was having my usual sea sickness episode, Neil managed to bartar a couple of nights in a very nice hotel, and with it being low season now, it was well within our budget. Greeted by a fresh face towel and a complimentary lime juice, we were shown up to our lovely room with a bath, which was fully appreciated!! We spent the rest of the evening enjoying the pool all to ourselves before heading out for a seaf...

... I saw one backing very quickly towards me (thats how they attack). Third dive was my favourite - Shark Point. We saw tons of leopard sharks and they weren't shy at all. They came right up to me and I even managed to pet one. Strange feeling - more like lizard skin than anything. Really awesome boat as well - a big multilevelled beast where we were served breakfast and lunch (cooked on the boat) and there was tons of space on board. 20 of us ...
Patong, Phuket, Thailand nkan7... More resourceful groups dyed their baby powder different colors and a you could be blue, green, yellow or red at any point, but it didn't really matter because a block later you would be powder free. This is the only time I think you can throw water on someone and they smile back at you and wave. We finally left the family in Karon and caught a taxi back to Patong, We ended up in downtown area, after making our way to the beach close to sunset we watched ...

Phuket, Thailand culv3rYesterday we flew from Chiang Mai to Phuket and came to Patong Beachj, that was our plan to stay here for New years, given the crazy party fame it has...I obviously realise that I have not been to too many tourist resort places and crazy beach towns in general, so to me it came almost a bit as a shock, I simply have really hard time believeing the neon lights, bars, cafes, pubs and go-go shows and clubs and restaurants and noise and everything its here ...
Phuket, Thailand sanita79... they offer rides. The water looked insanely dirty super choppy. Decided to forgo nausea and instead made our way down some cool side streets to sample the morning street vendor menu. By 10 am the big shopping malls were open and we found respite in a 10 story collection of stores, from Quicksilver to Louie Vuitton. Truthfully we just wandered to stay out of the heat. Back to the airport at 12:30 ...
Phuket, Thailand shaunandfinaSo there I was, laying in the sand, at just the right place to get the waves to gently caress my bod as they washed over me. Then there it was, as you've seen in the National Geographic Special: THE ROGUE WAVE And it sent my ass to oblivion. Time travel. I must've been out for at least 3 seconds from the concussion. After regaining consciousness and dislodging a few sundry sea creatures from my nostrils and ears, I realized the worst ...
Phuket, Thailand taishan... with the crocs. Back onto the path towards the Elephant Stadium, the show starts at 10.30am. We have a bit of time to kill so Dad buys the kids an ice-cream each. We let them buy a bunch of bananas each to feed the elephants in the enclosure. Both the elephants and the kids enjoy that. Still loads of time to pass and Henry wants a photo with the python. We happily agree and off we go. Dad refuses to budge from under his tree. Henry and the python get on ...
Patong, Thailand tric1003After some struggle in the scorching heat with our 100 pound backpacks (I have been dumping things out along the way to lighten my load all of a sudden my bottle of conditioner is not so important anymore its just heavy) we searched for our guest house which was tricky after hours of travel but after only 1 potential 'break-up' Russel and I found it and loved it! The beach was called Nang Thong, it was amazing the water was clean and warm, the ...
Kao Lak, Thailand juliet-russel... The Green Mango was full, but the guest house that is attached to the Green Mango had three rooms available and so we booked the rooms. The rate was 1000 Bhat a night. That is about $33.00 US. I helped the Germans book flights to Phuket and we where off. I arrived at Phuket on Sunday afternoon. I flew Asia Air from Bangkok's new airport. Asia Air is like Southwest Airlines in the US. They fly Airbus A320s (similar to a Boeing 737) so the ...
