Wonderful place to stay, huge rooms, clean, tidy, the pool was amazing, breakfast buffet was delicious and the range of food to choose from was huge and the staff were helpful. Tuk tuks were everywhere and there were plenty of massage places just down the road and a 7/11 just across the road which was super convenient. We loved our stay at Patong Paragon.

I've been to Thailand before, twice before this trip, but this time it was a little different. This time I travelled with my friend Emma from work. We went to Bangkok for 3 nights then Phuket for 8 nights. It's a holiday I will never forget.   We had massages everyday, you can't really complain when they range in price from $8 NZD to $20 NZD. …

... a club that didn't have a stripper pole in! Day 7 - I was feeling a tad delicate. We went and had massages, I got a ladyboy doing mine which was a treat! It was odd, we were pulled around, trodden on and stretched more than I expected but it was really good. We wanted to go to the beach again in the afternoon but it started really raining. In the evening we went back to the Thai restaurant with the amazing spring rolls with Jess and some other girls from our ...

... Around lunchtime, we headed off to Patong to check out Jungceylon and other bits and pieces. TBH Jungceylon was extremely disappointing. Not many good shops and Robinsons department store looks as tired as Tokyu in Bangkok. Probably the only highlight of Patong at all was a fresh food market called Banzaan, where we saw them selling live ...

I had my blog entry ready to go when I found out that one of the guys I worked with at the Water Dept. (state of California) had passed away. Arnold Sanchez was a relatively young engineer (maybe about 40) and he had always prided himself on keeping fit; he grew his own veggies and liked to eat organic food – he even did most of his own cooking because he preferred healthy food. At least he had a wonderful vacation in the Philippines ...

... dark passageway, complete with slippery rocks, above-the-knee water, very low ceilings, and two buff gay guys behind us to help as needed. We finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel and emerged to find a cluster of mangrove trees and the inner walls of this island that were completely covered in verdant greenery. The sunlight was coming in perfectly, at that angle where you can actually see the different rays, making the whole scene that much better. I ...
