    Wonderland Right Outside of Disney!

    from

I got this hotel through Priceline , I was scared at first , but when I arrived I wasn't pleasantly surprised! I stayed 8/23-8/29/2003- I will stay here again ! The rooms are beautiful , the furniture is really pretty, there is a refrigerator, the staff was extremely accomodating to all and any requests , they let me stay in my room on the day of check out until 3 p.m. w/o charging me anything extra- the bathrooms have an oversized tub and marble floors , even the elevators were extremely beautiful- the transportation to disney (epcot) took no more than 5-10 minutes to get to from the hotel , and you can also walk along route 192 to all different shops, where you can save on souveniers and food buffets- I have stayed at 3 different Disney properties and this was by far the best for the money, also you get to disney faster staying then you do staying at a non-monorail Disney Hotel- Plus you don't get stuck in all that disney traffic, because they take the back roads to / from the hotel/parks- This time I am not going to chance getting a different resort , so I will just search the internet to get a great price for this hotel- I will stay here again and again over a disney hotel! Also try the Black Angus Steakhouse across the street, they have great food- and don't order from any delivery Pizza Places , they have horrible food. The restaurant in the hotel was very pretty and had great food - you won't be dissappointed- plus we had a view of EPCOT fireworks- the staff was very friendly!

    Terrific holiday at Renaissance

    from

My wife and I have just returned from Orlando spending 2 excellent weeks at this hotel. We have been to Florida at least 8 times and can honestly say this hotel has to be one of the best even above the 5 star Omni Rosen on I-Drive! The staff are very friendly and nothing is a problem when you ask for anything, the back road to Disney area is great, literally 5 mins to Animal Kingdom. We will definitely return here and would recommend to friends.

    A mixed experience

    from

I just returned from a stay at the Renaissance Worldgate Hotel. I was there for two nights and had a rate of $55. There were several aspects of our stay which were disappointing. First, our room had damp carpets and spelled of rug shampoo. Not so awful, but we wondered WHY the carpets had been cleaned. If just routine maintenence, ok. But no one seemed to know. A very helpful young man was sent to let us look at some other available rooms. However, the first one smelled of mildew (maybe why the carpets had been cleaned?) and the second smell strongly of cigarettes, despite being a non-smoking room. We decided to stay put. The AC in that room was not cooling at full efficiency, but was adequate. Also the fridge could not close completely due to a bent latch on the cabinet door, which we didn't discover until the second day. Possibly no one had ever told them about these things. Then, the next evening, when we returned from the park and want to swim and use the hot tub, we were told that it was closed because someone had thrown up in the pool and it would be closed until the next day. Couldn't we still use the hot tub? No, if we open the doors, people will get in the pool, we were told. However, less that 30 minutes later, after we were in our room and settled in, I looked out the window to see people in the hot tub and the pool. Then to top it all off, the computers were down in the bar, so I could not charge a drink, had to use cash, which I had none at the moment. That said, the hotel was clean, if the decor was a little dated. The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful, with the exception of the desk clerk who sent us away from the pool only to open it almost immediately. And you can't beat the location! Drive out the "back way" and you are right on Disney property by the AKL. Never had to go near 192 and it's infamous traffic. BTW, skip the breakfast buffet. At $10.95, it is not worth it. Go right out to 192 for the many choices available there.

    Nice Hotel for Price

    from

For the deal I got this was a great hotel. I had a great view of the fountain out front. The pools were nice and well maintained. The proximity to Disney was great. Had a fridge and coffe maker in the room. Very friendly staff. A great value. We stayed at the Hyatt the night before and this hotel by far exceeded that property. Would stay here again. Only problem we had was not enough hot water during peak morning hour.

    Great Value

    from

Stayed June 30th - July 2nd. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean. The hotel is older but very well maintained. Location is excellant to visit Disney. Ask for short cut directions to Disney at the Front Desk.

Great Hotel, beware of NY Pizza world.

    from

Spent the 4th of July Holiday weekend at the Renaissance, loved it! The hotel is clean and well kept. The rooms are also very nice, absolutely loved the large bathtub. So far for the price, the best hotel I have stayed at in Orlando. I would recommend it highly. Just a note, travelers beware, DO NOT EAT at the NEW YORK PIZZA WORLD next to the Renaissance! Food was small in portion yet overpriced, warm not hot, and awful!!! The worst Italian food ever! Salad bar is like a childs play station. ONE garlic bread offered per person. We complained several times to the waitress yet were only given a 5$ off our next visit.

Just came back from Kissimmee, The Worldgate hotel was excellent. The rooms were large cleaned everyday. The deskstaff were helpful and eager to please. The pools were lovely and the hotel is well positioned for the major parks. I would recommend anyone to stay here if staying in kissimmee. The prcie of the room was brillient. Got a great deal through Octopus travel.com

It is a "pretty good" place

    from

Just got back from the Renaissance....and it was "pretty good" ....nothing spectacular....the rooms were clean and included a refrigerator...the pools were good.... and it is very close to the Disney Main gate which is a definite + ... if they were to invest a little overall on the infrasructure this would be an excellent hotel....I'd stay again for the right price.

    Loved the Renaissance

    from

We stayed there last Sept for a week with my husband's cousin and his wife. We were very impressed with the rooms. The desk clerks could not have been nicer. The rooms were large, clean, and had a fridge and safe. The dresser drawers were located under the window, freeing up space in the room. We especially liked the "back way" onto the Disney property. They had a copy of the directions at the front desk and it was great avoiding 192 to get to and from the parks. The grounds are beautiful with a fountain in the center of the green. We will be staying there again this Oct. and have heard a lot of positive reviews about this hotel.

Christmas Vacation 2014 Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios Day 3 We arrived at 9:15 am. The park was not as full as we thought it would be two days before Christmas. Kaleb was excited due to the fact he hasn't fully explored Animal Kingdom and the last time we were here was five years ago. Kylee loved the tram and quickly got it confused with a choo choo train. Entering, we took a few pictures and headed for the safari ride. Once ...

I don't know why, but every query at a hotel reception or concierge desk seems to take half a lifetime to resolve. And so it was that the hopping Scotsman and I waited for some minutes until finally one of the reception staff became free and beconed Jock over.

Then we made our way to Le Cellier in Canada for dinner. Five-star. VERY hard to get a reservation. I called at 7 am the first day I could make reservations (180 days out) and my only choices were 4:40 and 7:40. We took 7:40. I kept checking back for ...

... out over $400 for two adult and one child ticket to visit both of their parks for one day (a price commensurate with Disney by the way) we set off on our travels. We arrived at park opening and headed straight to the new Despicable Me ride (it's one of the kids favourite films) only to find that there was already a 45 minute wait. Like many of Universal's attractions much of this line was outside (not a great selling point in Orlando in August) and but for a few screens, with ...
