... stop at the Big Pineapple was on the cards and we get there to find not a lot to be honest. It is still there with the train down the hill into the animal farm, but that is it. The Macadamia train and shop is gone, the pineapple tourist side of things is gone, and there was a small local market in the huge shop area. Even the best ice creams etc are no longer available. Very disappointing that there is no souvenirs anymore, not sure how much longer there will even be the train ...

No luck for us there but did get my money back from playing keno. I got excited when we arrived at the casino as I recognized one of the guys who played in the Gunbarell Highwaymen a few weeks ago, I went and spoke to him an it turns out he lives just down the road. ...

Today was a bit more of a restful day as we took in the Surfers Paradise beach and the hotel pool before lunch. It was a bit windy which made it choppy and a little cool but the kids enjoyed themselves and Kerry and I even had a swim. By that stage the kids had huddled themselves up on the beach hiding from the whipping sand by towels and their aunty. After our little foray to the beach we made ourselves at home at the ...
