... we arrived at the top, we made our way to the Evangelical Church. This Church was built in the 12th or 13th Century and is now being renovated. It was very simple, in the way of old medieval churches. I find the simplicity absolutely stunning. The beauty is in the curve of the stone, and the sheer size of the columns. Biertan the Fortified Church-Oct. 19-Part 2
... I said at the moment I heard the story. There may have been a snort involved. However, it was fascinating. Unfortunately, the church itself was not open for visitors when I was there, but it was still incredible to walk around the grounds of the fortification. The village below, was in such a beautiful spot. I once more took many, many pictures.

Medieval Heaven
... mills, homesteads and every other building you could imagine. You couldn't walk in the rooms, but you could peer inside where they had it decorated with old beds, tables, clothes and linens. The place was pretty empty and it was nice strolling the grounds to myself. The weather still is crazy hot and I kept ducking into the shade for a little bit here and there to cool down.
