... to the helpful staff we booked onto a tour with Ningaloo Whaleshark Swim Company. The next available spot was 2 days time giving us time to get a few bits n bobs ready for the day. Our world charger had not yet been delivered from Perth, surprise surprise so we were still using any electrical items sparingly but we managed to have a good Skype conversation with family that evening.

... views were not as spectacular as they could have been. I thought the scenery was very similar to the New Zealand coastal scenery, particularly the rugged South Island. Monterey was historically a fishing town which specialised in the catching, processing and canning of sardines. Today the disused canneries and warehouses have been turned into shops, restaurants and an aquarium. The fog had burnt off which meant that the view of Monterey Bay was spectacular. I've made an unscheduled detour into Watsonville this past week and I can't say this part of the journey has been amazingly enjoyable. Louis broke down again Roxy and I are just along for the ride, literally. It's had it's ups and downs but mostly I've felt down due to the fact that Thanksgiving was this week and it was a possibility that I could be stuck in this tiny town for the holiday. ... them into all the shops. Also all the motels take pets as well. It was the same when we were in San Francisco. Lots of people had their dogs with them. None of the houses in Carmel have letter boxes. They name their houses instead.
The shopping area was exactly as I expected. Very neat and clean. Lots and lots of trees and flowers and the shops were all very expensive and very quaint. Carmel is where all the rich people go for a weekend ...
