We turned off for the old city of Aspendos. The first thing you come to is the bridge across what was a pretty fast flowing river. I guess the snow is melting fast and the water looked the pale green colour of very cold melted glaciers. (We know we have tried to swim in them in Kazakhstan. A.) The bridge is a recent 12C version of the Roman bridge which stood there.

Being Sunday the roads were quiet and we set off for a drive into the mountains to see the Roman city of Termessos.

The city dates from around 400BC and is set in a very odd location high on the top of a mountain pass. The road up to the start of the city is steep and clearly had the odd Roman site on route with walls etc. visible.

The streets were very noisy last night, it was Saturday Night. Needless to say neither of got a really good sleep. So we were a bit slow moving this morning, then took the old tram to the Antalya Museum. Almost all the objects come for the Anatolian region and lot of the statues are from Perge, an old Roman town nearby which now is not much at all but in it's 2nd C heyday sported a huge 'theatre' which had lots and lots of enormous statues.
