... lot of sealife. We personally saw some pufferfish and another lionfish. Everyone elses fish stories included some Blacktip Reef Sharks, an Eagle Ray, a sea turtle and a school of Barracuda. Maybe next time! With such a strong drift every group pretty much had different dives and completely different experiences. So I got a few cool pictures.. learning my camera a little more with each dive.. and another couple hours out in the Guam sun. Look ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblogOk, so there's been a lot going on lately and I haven't had much time to update this blog so ill recap last weekend and put in pictures from the dives of the weekend before.
The new Bomb squadron from Louisiana arrived in early October and just started getting in the groove of flying a packed mission schedule. So I took full advantage of the time off knowing the pace probably will not change until after I leave. This is a good thing though for sure meaning I get more ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... thing!
We started out from another road and hiked 3 hours through trails that had lots of forks, finding several times that we were going in the wrong direction. However we were more familiar with the topography and features so that kept us giong in the right general direction. The hike goes al over the place, through an old WW2 tank farm and down a steep mud sice cliff where we used a rope down into the lower Sigua falls ...

We have a new bomb squadron coming in Wednesday so itll be a new group, new missions, new objectives. Im stoked! Stay tuned! I am planning on trying to take the advanced open water diver course sometime when I get some time off so there are some pretty cool dives that that one entails!

Oceanview, Guam guamblog... orange tape and trekking to it.It took about 45 minutes to get to the point where we could see Ague Cove which is a beautiful sight in itself. The West side of the Pacific ocean was just beginning to change foliage with the sunset and the cliffs began to emit an orange light from the sundown. Not giving up yet! We looked around for a bit to find the last peice of the trail but were unsuccessful knowing that we had to head back up before ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... spot, gear, water. I lose my mask. I find my mask. I lose a fin. I find my fin. Down sigh. Only I do not go down. I should at Kevin: 'an extra weight please' while thinking: 'why do I need an extra weight?' If you think this is bad: listen to Dr T's dive: his regulator's mouth piece is broken, his spare regulator does not work, his BCD does not inflate, his mask does not equalize and he is underweight. F.... nothing of that ...
Tamuning, Guam tonyandmarina... you are has wireless, you do not need your computer. We call that his birthday present. We will be in Chuuk on his birthday and there will be nothing to buy there! AND: we bought a trimmer! I trimmed T's hair. The hair on his head. What do you think??? We go to Denny's for an early dinner. You know Denny's? http://www.dennys.com/en/ During the night the A/C starts making even more noise. And breaks down in the morning. I call reception and ...
Tamuning, Guam tonyandmarina... I think. Most days, I feed it regularly with tasty, enjoyable food, and I don't push it to its limits; just to comfortable satisfaction. But then there are times - when the food is just life-affirming, there's a bountiful selection and I'm plain indecisive, or I know I'll likely never savour or recreate the meal again - in those times my stomach understands. It affords me my moments of gluttony, my commitment to trying yet another dish, my ...
Tamuning, Guam living2travel... the beaches are amazing with white sand and reefs you can snorkel on all day long. Justin and I want to say a big Happy birthday to Tim my Dad as his birthday is tomorrow (our time ) or November 10th yours. We will write more. Thanks for checking in C and J
Hagatna, Guam justincourt... holding a reception for the Kitty Hawk officers at the Hilton (where I had reservations 2 nights of our liberty). We took a bus over. I talked to my direct boss, the PAS (Principal Assistant to Services, LCDR Magiera), who is a great guy, about my trip to Prague, and about the advantages and disadvantages of staying in the Navy. This is a constant topic of conversation for us, since the implications one way or the other seem so overwhelming. As usual, I'm trying to suspend ...
