... and was economically inclined to the west, and he is still revered by some as the Father of modern Tunisia. It looks like a big mosque and has a casket inside. OK,
This area, or somewhere in Tunisia, was also used for Tattooine in Star Wars (and was in every Star Wars film except Episode 5). The Monastir Rabat was used for Jersusalem in Life of Brian. A nearby city was used as Cairo in Raiders of the Lost Ark. And some place was ...
... He seems to be almost venerated by the people & his times are seen as a kind of golden age. We wandered in the medina with narrow passages between the houses & enjoyed seeing the range of products available.
After lunch, back in Sousse, we went to the ribat to see the recently re-opened museum of 2nd century AD mosaics & artefacts taken from villas in the area, in its courtyard. These were truly stunning, in size, ...
Jens and I flew out of Düsseldorf into Enfidha, Tunesia. The plane was very small and hot. From above it totally looked like we were landing in the ocean, but luckily there was an airport on land :-). It rained when we arrived and I was not happy about that. I wanted the sun, but it got warmer the next days. We spend a lot of time at the beach, and ...

I loved the medina, the streets a confusion, But Dani christened it a 'Ghetto' - a very sad delusion. The one time she ventured off the beaten track, I befriended a ...

Historical Traveler Reviews One Resort Monastir
Tres bel hotel
Probleme de frigo qui ne marchait pas. Probleme signalé à l'acceuil. Frigo changé le soir même....RAPIDE
Hotel propre. Menu varié. Service & Animation OK.
Le One Resort a été notre premier hôtel All In... Quel souvenir!
We have just returned from a one-week stay at the One Resort Hotel in Monsatir and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality that this hotel has to offer (considering the price we paid!)
I could never find a review for this 4 star hotel in Monastir on Skane's beach. It had all the amenities, was very clean, plenty of food on pension plan. The staff was fluent in many languages. We were able to rent a car from reception in an hour. The massage/hammam facilities were very clean and efficient and inexpensive. The room was huge........actually two rooms which could sleep about 8 even though we were only two. View of the water, lovely beach. One hiccup was that although the hotel had satellite tv, they didn't have enough remote controls to go around so we had to wait three days until someone checked out before we could get one. But all in all I would return.
