We left our beloved botchy field, filled up with petrol and drove around the corner to Allemont. We hunted again for gas, or some way to make it work, but no luck. Again. Not very happy! We headed towards the Col du Golibier but unfortunately the road was closed as its too dangerous to drive/ride. We headed up to the Col du Sarenna instead, which is the other side of the mountain to the Alpe d'huez. It was incredible! The summit was unreal. We were almost in the snow!! Besides the thousands of cyclists climbing the mountain there are hundreds of cars that have been parked on the side of the road for who knows how long. Of course since these fans have been here for many days they pass the time drinking their favorite beverages. Thankfully they are not driving right ...
