          His take on the day:

First a visit to the site of the first flight, then off to the next point North. I did not expect to be so moved by standing on Big Kill Devil Hill and imagining the feat of the Wright Bothers. I learnt to fly and understand the challenge and the feeling of achievement, but they had to actually prove that man could fly and then invent all the necessary controls. They were bicycle makers from Dayton, Ohio and could not get an ...

We are only here for a long weekend and this means we have sadly missed the Gay Pride celebratory weekend at ...

About to watch a "worth-it" short film on the history. We saw an Indian settlement, toured the museum, boarded a replica of a European exploration ship and learned about the lost colony. 5:00pm- we just crossed the Chesapeake and are driving north through the Eastern shore of VA. Sunny and ...

... of the sort of pissheads we’d be sharing the communal bathrooms at the site with. We agreed it was best to adapt to the situation, talk about English and American football and keep our heads down. It wasn’t long before we surrounded ourselves with people we actually wanted to give the time of day to. A portly African American chap gave us a few tips on picking up ‘US chicks’, and reminded us to keep our beach beers from the ...
