Historical Traveler Reviews Oak Plantation Resort Kissimmee
I own timeshare at Oak Plantation and have been there twice since I first bought my week in 1999. Both times have been just heaven. The first year there it was just me and my wife, it was a perfect honeymoon. The second year there we had our 1 and a half year old daughter. She never even knew she left home, she loved it and we did too. The comfort is unparallel.
My wife & I stayed at Oak Plantation in July and found it a great place to stay. We usualy use a friens villa but it was not available. So we stayed at Oak Plantation. The condo was first class and the staff were great. Loved the place and would recomend it to anyone.
What A Great Vacation!
We had the best vacation ever! Thanks to the Oak Plantation Resort. When we arrived, we asked that our accomodations be changed so that we could have a lower unit. Everyone at check in was so accomodating and did so without delay. The next morning due to our washer/dryer unit not functioning, we requested a room change. Well, the new unit was so spacious and simply beautiful!! We couldn't believe the value. And so close to everything...not just the parks but the restaurants and shopping stores....and a super Walmart to boot! We met many nice families by the pool every night which made the difference when traveling with 2 busy boys. All in all, we can't wait to return for a week of relaxation!!!
My husand and I spent 5 days at Oak Plantation and have no complaints at all. The facilities were clean and the staff attentive. The rooms were a nice size and the pool and hot tub a good way to relax. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a nice secluded place to take your family away from all the disney hoopla.
We Loved Oak Plantation
My husband and I stayed at Oak Plantation two years ago. We loved the accomodations, the pool, and the neighborhood feeling of the property. Our one bedroom condo had a full kitchen, living room and dining area. The furnishings were nice, clean, and comfortable. We were so impressed with the property, we purchased a time share week there!
Another great stay
We just got back from another trip to Oak Plantation. We will continue to go back. With a 2 year old, space and kitchen are a must for us when we travel. Large closet where we set up the portacrib! Was perfect both times. Never bothered about the timeshare speech and the price was excellent!
Great place to stay, 10 minutes to Mickey
truly was a great place, with lots of amenities, a full efficiency for less than a motel room. Treated like gold. It is a time-share, although a very sweet lady (Dolly Wells) mentioned reasons to hear the sales pitch, and never bothered us after that, we did not attend same.
Avoid this place.
I was a guest of the Oak Plantation Resort in March 2002. Unfortunately, it was an unpleasant experience. My room was adjacent to the basketball court. Every night during my stay, I was subjected to noise and a bouncing basketball from that court until 11:00 p.m.I found it difficult to sleep and read.
The several times I called the front desk pleading for a new suite, my complaints were dismissed. I was told Oak Plantation was booked solid. Since my stay was limited and my itinerary all planned, it was impossible to find accommodations elsewhere. (The staff should have helped me find a suitable room in another establishment). I did not look forward to returning to Oak Plantation at night and tried to stay out as late as possible. On March 10, I got so fed up I went to a 9:30 showing at the local cinema in a very tired state.
This was my first trip to Florida and it was a terrible experience. Next tiime I will stay at a familiar brand like Holiday Inn.
Nice accomodations; great value
My husband and I stayed at Hampton Vacation Resort Oak Plantation last year. It was so much better than a hotel room. We had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry in the one bedroom suite. It was really nice and the price was less than we would have paid for a standard hotel room. We will definately go back.
Fabulous Place To Stay
It is a fabulous place to stay. The condo was exactly what we needed. It was a great price and had a lot of anemities. Very clean. The grounds were kept very well. It was quiet and a wonderful place to vacation for the price. It was close enough to the main attractions but coze enough to just stay in and relax. The only dray back was that it was time share property. Although it is voluntary to participate in a time share sales meeting. If you came to relax and don't want to own a time share I DON'T RECOMMEND GOING TO THE SALES MEETING. THE FREE TICKETS TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS IS NOT WORTH IT TO SIT THROUGH THAT THING. In general I would come back every time I came to Orlando.

... her a top at the time. Adalias souvinere was a Beauty and the Beast T-shirt. I bought xxs (for 10-12kg) and it swims on her like a dress! Should be good for a couple of years. We had a fast track ticket (you could reserve up to three rides and get a time slot to avoid the lines) with the spinning tea cups. Samuel really liked this one, I found it a bit dizzy and Adalia didn't really know what to think. We decided to recover by having lunch. After lunch we rode the Peter Pan ...
... the Great Barrier Reef (came all this way to find that out when we could have just travelled a few hours up the road from home??) - also lots of sea creatures such as mantees, sharks, sea turtles and of course tropical fish like clownfish, lionfish, frogfish!! The frogfish looked like a cross between a canetoad and a fish - not the prettiest in the tank, I must say! We loved Turtle Talk the ...
... wait at about 25 minutes. Not bad at all really. All the cast members noticed our buttons that said it was our first visit and we had fun interacting with other guests.
We rode a few more rides until midnight when our feet turned into pumpkins. We could have stayed until 1:00 thanks to the extra magic hours but we were really wiped. It really was a wonderful and magical day for both of us. Blisters and rain couldn't even stop us from having the best Disney ...
... was quite good.
On our last day here we took a behind the scenes tour of the Disney facilities. This was a highlight of the stay here. We started at Epcot with a view of the USA pavilion before it is open to the public. We also saw backstage and under the stage to understand how the animatronics work. From there we went to the costume department at Hollywood Studios. We also saw the underside of Tower of Terror. At Animal Kingdom we saw the ...
Not much to report on from yesterday - drove up from Key West to Orlando and checked in to some cabins for accommodation. Had a few beers and then hit the hay as we had a huge tomorrow on the horizon. UNIVERSAL BABY!!! Woke up and got our day bags together, rolled into the van, and tour leader Liz dropped us off at Universal's Island of Adventure, and then took the other half of the group to Disney World. I know what some of you may be thinking: "why didn't you go to ...
