Santorini's Best Caldera Views
If you go to Santorini, you must take advantage of the Caldera views. This hidden gem helps you do just that, without the snobbery of the other hotels. The hotel manager will do everything to make your stay comfortable. He helped us book the lowest rates on a rental car, guided us to the best restaurants, and generally provided candid advice.
There is a cozy pool with a view that words cannot describe. Each room has a cute mini kitchen so that you can fix snacks or even a meal. Even better, each room has a patio with furniture so that you can take in the view with your food and drink.
I can't recommend this place more. It is a great value.
It's difficult to be original when reviewing this hotel, since after our stay there I can only repeat.
This hotel is lovely.
This is a wonderful place to stay in quiet location
(a perfect place to stay in the most romantic city in the world!)
Ocean view at its best
My husband and I spent a few days in July 06 on Santorini. A friend of ours suggested Nostos Apartments and after a quick check on the web page we decided to go there for a week.
Nostos apartments is located in the fine and picturesque village of Oia. All apartments are built in what we considered typical greek style; traditional houses with white and blue colours - which was exactly what we were looking for. The studio we rent had a beautiful and splendid view over the sea and the so-called Caldera which we enjoyed each morning while having our breakfast on the sunny terrace. The furniture was not poshly but very nice, clean and tasteful as well as the whole facility. In addition we enjoyed the nice and helpful service in a friendly atmosphere. We had a very relaxing and sunny vacation in a beautiful surrounding.

Wonderful romantic stay at Nostos Apartments!
my husband and i spent 5 days last june at the nostos apartments and it was our best holiday ever!
i had always dreamt of going to greece and the greek islands,
and this summer in greece we had such a marvellous time in greece!!!!!!
the most beautiful and romantic place to stay all over greece was santorini, and after reading much about all different villages we decided to stay in oia, and it really was the best option!
once we knew we wanted to stay in oia, for the incredible views, we came across the nostos apartments, which we selected because of the good attention received by owner in our e-mails, nice views on web site, good price, private terrace and brand new pool with those spectacular views to the caldera.
the apartments, all in a traditional cave-style, are very clean and have private terraces overlooking the volcano and the caldera (which is worth the value). they have all you need for small meals (small kitchenette with fridge), air conditioning (although you will not need it bc the cave is cool enough), sun umbrella, and the bathroom towels smell so wel!!
the pool had just been finished last may, so we were able to relax and swim with the incredible views..... what a relax!
the manager andreas is very helpful and friendly and am sure he will do his best to make you feel at home and provide you all information about the island you may need: excursions, car rental, etc, and he speaks very good english.
we would go back to nostos apartments if we went back in santorini, of course. it was a wonderful selection!
also, the hotel is located in a walking distance of the best santorini sunset, and main road with stores, supermarkets ( we recommend "local market" close to the nostos apartments, as the lady is very nice and the prices are quite reasonable, ie 1.5 lt bottle of mineral water was only 0.40 eur! ).
hope you enjoy your stay in oia (pronouced "ia"), with those beautiful colours of the sky and marvellous blue egean sea views and nice weather!
Sehr empfehlenswert !!! Wir werden wiederkommen !!!
I have to say that Nostos Apartments is one of the most amazing hotels I ahve ever stayed in in my many years of travel. I stayed here with my girlfriend and we both loved it. It is not your high end luxuary hotel, it is more of a minimal apartment style hotel. You feel like you own the building, rather than you are staying in it. The pool is amazing but it is the view that you are paying for. All I have left to say is: Look at these photos I took!
Tiny but cute
Santorini island is a place known for breathtaking view.
Tiny "caves" hanging from the cliff, combine unique view with peaceful environment.
Every year we are spending a long weekend in various establishments in Santorini, and this time we have choosen Nostos apartments.
A complex of 9 apartments of different sizes, provide decent prices, friendly personnel, privacy, and a pool with quite a view !! All the above 10 minutes away from village's centre.
What else to look for.........

Superb view in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere
We have spent 8 fabulous days in Oia staying in this very pleasant and comfortable mini hotel.
The appartment we stayed in was very spacious, fully equipped, styled in simple elegance and The view from the veranda is amazing, the scenery relaxing and the facilities well looked after, comfortable and tranquille.
Andreas, who is managing the place, is very efficient, helpfull and generaly a very nice guy that will try his best to cater for every need you might have. Furthermore he can give you excellent advise regarding where to go around the island, mostly in places non touristic that are secluded interesting and far from the crowd.
The place is highly recommended and very good value for money. You definetely get a lot more that you expect.
Great experience at Nostos Apartments!
My friend and I spent a relaxing three days at Nostos Apartments in Oia in June 2006. We were delighted when we arrived and saw our traditional cave apartment (1-bedroom suite). It was spacious and well-appointed, with a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. The manager, Andreas, was extremely helpful and kind. As the other reviewer said, he brought our bags down the stairs and had the rental car agency come to our terrace. Besides exploring Oia, we spent time relaxing in the lounge chairs on our terrace and cooling off in the natural air conditioning of the cave dwelling. We also took a dip in the small pool on the edge of the caldera to cool off. The views from the rooms are stunning, the location of the hotel extremely convenient and quiet, and overall Nostos is just a great place. Highly recommended!!
Fabulous view, fabulous service, fabulous CAVE!!
Just got back from 2 weeks in Greece. Everywhere we went the Greek people were warm, helpful and welcoming. An outstanding example was Nostos Apartments on Santorini.
The property itself is the second closest to the town of Oia, a small absolutely elegant area of Santorini. The views from both rooms we looked at, before selecting the larger suite, were simply breathtaking. The rooms/caves (built into the side of the volcano, are brand new, beautiful, all white, the sheets and towels are all cotton and the kitchenette is well stocked with matching, new plates, silver and glassware. Fridge clean and smells good, the shower amenties were ample and of good quality. Andreas, the manager, was helpful in the extreme, he recommended the best beaches, (make the extra effort and go to the white beach, it's WELL WORTH IT) gave specific directions how to get there, even arranged for a rental company to bring the rental car to us. We filled out the paperwork on the small terrace outside our room. Dare I point out he even ran up and down the stairs with our heavy bags.
Have a great time, we did!

... hotel to see the temple of the Greek big man himself, Zeus. Having purchased the all-inclusive ticket when we visited the Acropolis we were able to just walk right in (not that there was a line to skip anyway) and we were treated to some incredible views, having arrived just as the sun was starting to set and change the color of the sky a bit. So following a few amazing amateur photography moments we continued down the road just a bit to complete our day of sightseeing with ...
... Unfortunately, we couldn't have predicted that the weather would be so hot!! Not the best day to see a steaming crater (1000°C) and splash around in a hot pool of water. The volcano and hot springs tours seems to pass quickly. We hiked to the summit and saw the steam billowing out of a few relief vents. You could feel the heat emanating from the crater even over the heat of the day! And the hot springs ended up being quite nice. ...
... while (which included one person giving us wrong directions and many unnecessary stairs), we found our accommodation, Angel Cave Houses. The slanted steps down are the hardest ever to navigate, they are made of uneven round rocks…you basically need hiking boots…not that we had any of course.
We have a cute little studio apartment, which doesn’t feel like a cave at all except that the bathroom ceiling is ...
... half way down when the stairs ran out. They started again a little lower but it was getting more and more windy and it was getting colder and we could see rain out in the ocean that seemed to be heading in our direction. And the peninsula side, where we could see the walkway now, was a lot of dirt until you got halfway up the hill. SOOOO we decided we had done enough and headed back up with frequent stops to rest and ...
The Greek Islands
Well this is one of the places that I thought I would never get too. But *******n I am glad I did. Greece in general didn't interest me that much after the **** I had heard about Athens and their struggling economy. But the islands are something special. I hate travellers that say they wouldn’t go to places because they are touristy (and ...
