Noosa, Queensland, Australia sabaustralisim... while the sun went down, and the Brisbane skyline at night from on high was really something. And the food wasn't bad either. The Gold Coast is famous for its theme parks, and there were two I really wanted to visit. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for Dreamworld, which is a shame, because they had some pretty cool rides, but I did manage to get to Warner Bros Movie World instead. As the name suggests, all the rides are movie-themed, with an ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia suzloua... but hey ho, we were in Australia now.
Noosa is a beautiful seaside town. It is every so slightly posh and the main street (Hastings St I think) was lined with lovely restaurants and bars that were sadly out of reach on our travellers budget. Still, we had a box of wine knocking about so haa! We had a nice couple of days at the beach, being treated to some excellent surf at 'little cove' and probably having the most productive ...
... me a lift into town and show me round Noosa, then we head to the Surf Club which is in town and apparently requires membership but i get in as a guest and we get a lovely view over the ocean. The place is really popular with the locals and families and its very busy. We get dinner, and settle down for a chat and to watch the Australian Open final with Nadal and Federer. Perfect! We stay there for a bit then head out for ice cream, im really ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia clairebr... species (only about 1 inch in wing diameter). since it was now dusk and i was satisfied with my treasure hunt pictures, i headed back inside for the evening... back to the land of GRE scores, professional research and application fees. tonight--just a couple of hours ago--Mary (Lana's mom) called down to me "Katelin, come upstairs quick!" i figured it was something biology related on the tv that she wanted to show me ...
Bli Bli, Queensland, Australia katelin... but means you can hear people walking and doors closing without even trying. After checking in I headed straight for the beach. The water was an amazing blue color and a lot colder than I was expecting. But it is still spring time here, so it hasnt reached its full temp. After laying on the beach for a couple hours, I went back to the lodge. They have a 'meet and greet' every night for new ...
Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia murf6481... It was a house in a residential area, converted into a hostel. So there were strict rules... near enough lights out at 10 if you didn't go out! But it was a nice small, easy place to meet people- and that's what I wanted. Sometimes some of these big massive chain hostels are actually harder to meet people in... and a bit more daunting. So yeh, it was cool for a change. I just monged about, read my book ...
Noosa, Australia jento85... some stores you can bargain your price down (ie. Sheena was getting a camera and bargained her price down from 500 to about 230). We then went to the mall which was fun and different from what I am used to - a lot of outdoors. Another thing to note which is something to get used to is no store is open past 5:30pm on any given day except Thursdays. That includes convenience stores. Here are photos of my room and campus:
Sippy Downs, Australia caroline85... they're cheap and making our own dinners in ****** little kitchens!
Hopefully some nice food will put a smile back on her face ;)
