The camp is brilliant: the kitchen area was better than any other hostel we have been in. It had a BBQ and a gas cooker as well as the normal hobs. ... gravel roads popped us out at Tin Can Bay! We saw the town in 5 minutes, had lunch at the point while Will chased soldier crabs. A local suggested we drive to Rainbow Beach which we did. A nice little village, cute cafes and shops, the beach wasn't looking its best due to all the rain up here, the water was a murky brown and really rough surf. On a gorgeous sunny Qld day it would be a magic place to swim and surf.

... up in the trees and not seeing any Koalas we began to give up, until very bizarrely our friend Owen from Fraser Island suddenly appeared on the track behind us. He too had not spotted any Koalas so we decided to quick march out of the park to chill out in the sun for a bit.
