Las Vegas

We started off flying into Las Vegas and stayed firstly at New York New York, a real Vegas experience!

The Canyons

Waking at 4am, we were weighed at the airport so they could decide what side of the plane they would put the ballast. This little plane fits only 12 people. We flew first to Bryce Canyon and then to the Grand Canyon. What a spectacle!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!...and los angeles

Okay i've got 4mins to write this (time on computer) so i will try and write as much as possible and therefore mind the spelling.

So los angeles was a tad crazy, hollywood (where we stayed) is not the safest place...in fact la is quite rough in general and hollywood is actually a nicer area. Beverly hills and bel air/holby hills however is beautiful and quite nice really green, beutiful houses and great shops...both upmarket and medium (which is hard to find in los angeles)...ahh only...

On our way to Monte Carlo Casino

Walking through the Excalibur and NY NY Casinos Instead of going street side right away. I knew there would be more to see if we walked through the connection to the Excalibur. There is a nice indoor path that leads between our casino and theirs. On our walk we found a Krispy Kreme, a 2 for 1 Buffet (2 - 6 pm), a store full of dragons, and a confusing casino. Eventually we found our way outside and across the pedestrian walkway that leads across the street to NY NY. We decided we had time to ...

Cirque du Soleil 'Zumanity' @ NY NY

Cirque du Soleil 'Zumanity' Review Location: NY NY Time: 7:30pm Seats: Section 202 Row H Seats 10-11 At 6:30 we decided to go over to the Zumanity theater. We figured they would have the doors open. Turns out we were wrong. They didn't open the doors until 40 minutes before the show started. We were in our seats a little after 7:00pm. I regret not looking at the snack bar a little closer; we could have used another one of those frozen ice drinks. 7:15 The pre show started. It was great! Super...

Knights Time

Finally, a chance to spend some more time in Zion, rather than just passing through. And with Springdale right on the outskirts of the park, it makes it easy to access early. With the off season, there is very little on in Springdale and we can't see the IMAX presentation on the park. Not only that, it proves a little difficult to even grab a carton of milk for a quick bite on the run. But, in a last gasp, we get something. The visitor's centre at Zion is pretty busy, which is a fair effort f...

Walk the strip

After a well needed sleep, we were up at 6.00am watching the Brazil v Australia game - such a fantastic game! Disappointing that we lost, but played brilliantly against the #1 favourite. Venturing out the of the confines of our hotel we decied to walk the strip, having disregarded the weather reports we discovered the weather was a little on the hot side, actually boiling would be a better description. 105 degrees farenheight or 37deg, and the air was so thick you could chew it. Never the les...

The City of Sin - Vegas Baby

Day 1 Well the 12th of December finally came around and as we said our see ya later to all of our families it was the beginning of the queues. First we had to queue to go through customs, then security and then a second security station because we were travelling to the USA. After that we boarded our Qantas 747-400 for our 12.5 hr flight to LA. So we left Australia on the 12th of December at 12:50pm and arrived in LA on the 12th of December at 7am, almost 6 hours before we began. Anyway back ...

Historical Traveler Reviews of New York New York Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

I liked the arcade, the room was great too

from A TripAdvisor Member
im 13, I like the service, the food and the room...the arcade was a blast and so was the roller Coaster

Terrible pool

from A TripAdvisor Member
It's obvious they don't want you to spend time at the pool. It was terrible. Way to small for a hotel of that size. Terible poolside scenery unless you like viewing cement walls and a power station. Visit, but don't stay.

NY suited me fine!

This is a cute hotel, takes you back into the 40's with its New York themed hotel and don't forget to ride the roller coaster! Had no problems whatsoever! Service was great and the rooms were cute and modern themed.

You'd have to be crazy not to love this place!

I have been to Vegas twice and both times stayed at this hotel. True, I haven't experienced any other hotel, but I can tell you that for the price you pay, it is more than "well worth it!" The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, in the hotel and casino! The dealers are some of the best I have ever met! The casino atmosphere is great with live music all night long! Both visits, I had great views. The comps were great also. We got to see a show and have a GREAT dinner at Gallagher's Steakhouse. Not just a $5 comp, but a $200 dinner!!!! It was great. I definetely recommend a visit to Gallagher's. I am visiting Vegas in 8 days, and we are staying at the Imperial Palace (I did not plan this trip) and I am VERY, VERY, VERY disappointed!!!! But I can guarantee that all of my gambling will be done at NY NY. (and having dinner at Gallagher's). To sum it up, LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

What a great surprise.

What a fun place. I had read that some of the standard rooms were a bit small so I booked a deluxe room and it was great. Banks of windows on two walls. Art deco decore. Very large room. We had a view out the back across the parking structure. We could see over to Excaliber and all the way around to the Paris. We could watch the roller coaster and hear it too. It was sort of like hearing a distant storm. It was one of the more spectacular rooms I have had. The service was fine. Everyone was helpful and pleasent. I was hesitant to try NYNY after staying at the Paris and the Venitian. I am ready to go back.

Great VIP Services

from A TripAdvisor Member
I recently attended their invitational Holiday Slot Tournament and was thoroughly impressed with the VIP services at the hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful and made you feel like a winner! The rooms were comfortable and nice, the restaurants excellent (try Gonzales for Mexican) and the gambling area fun and exciting. Don't forget to sign up for their slot card! They have the best comps around!

Nice place, good value!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Spent 3 nights at NYNY recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Good quality room and all amenities and services were very nice, especially for the price range. The nightlife was great! Several good bars inside the property, one with live music and all served reasonbly priced, high quality libations. The view from our room was'nt much, but hey how much time do you sepnd in your room when you're in Vegas, anyway?!?!?

I would definitely recommend, especially in the mid-price range.

Great Place

from A TripAdvisor Member
A great place to stay with friendly, helpful staff. The location is perfect and the casino has one of the bast layouts in town.

Dressed up Motel 6

from A TripAdvisor Member
I guess I should say I almost stayed there. Upon arrival I took one look at my standard room which had only a coat rack, too small for one persons weekend wardrobe let alone two and said no way! MOTELS have coat racks. HOTELS have CLOSETS! I left our bags at the desk and told them to cancel the room. Then I walked two hotels down to the

Luxor and got a tower room WITH a CLOSET for less money. THEN the next day I was offered a suite upgrade on the remaining two days for only $25! Moral of the story: NY/NY is a nice place to visit but for that much money you don't want to stay there if you bring more than one change of

clothes. (Even the San Remo has closets!)

New York - New York - No Good - No Good

from A TripAdvisor Member
Very disappointing stay. Requests by email, such as a Strip view, were ignored. Room was OK, but looked out over parking lots. Staff were less than welcoming, except for one porter, who was excellent. It was obvious that this place doesn't really care about its customers.
