... in the moonlight. The lights around the bay, the moon on the water, the heat of the evening mixed in with the buzz of Mosquitos and barking of the local dogs makes for a peaceful space. The food here has been Western spicy so have asked for Thai spicy. So much nicer. The heat (temperature) has absolutely curbed my appetite. ... Koh Toa is a lot smaller than anywhere we have been yet. The islands beaches are lined completely with taxi boats that float lazily nearby and have row after row of 'drinky party' places, each with their own horizontal growing coconut tree decorated in Christmas lights. ... the Lomprayah service all the way to Koh Tao. It was a long old trip, about 300km altogether and I finally arrived on Koh Tao at 6:45pm on Tuesday. Funny I really felt like I was coming home when I got off that boat.

And guess who was there to meet me???

Yes the friendly faces of Per and Kiki.

Well long time - no see. All of 6 days since we parted in Jakarta!

It was great to see them here and they helped me with my bags to the Jom ...

... is boned and cooked to perfection whilst we watch folk launching those lanterns (mixed feelings). One sets fire to itself when about 50 feet high and falls, burning all the way down before extinguishing itself in the bay. What if it had come down on the dry grass, a tree, our heads??!
The fish is sublime and we mmm and ahh all through our meal. Though we chose a large helping we easily manage to consume this, I can hear the diet calling me ...
