This region hides a lot of precious and beautiful sights still to be discovered and thanks to the more conservative attitude of the local governors it has been saved from mass tourism and cultural alienation. Nothing to compare what has happened to the well famous Phuket and Ko Phi Phi islands where you feel like being in Benidorm or Bodrum...

... Terry woke in the night freezing and had to use our two bath sheets and the extra pillows to cover himself to keep warm. I woke in the night and saw the pillows balancing on him - I wish I had taken a photo. ... nice too in their lovely orange robes. Not sure about paying to be blessed though, shouldn't it be the ones who can't afford to pay who need blessings? Anyway, as legend has it, the site for this temple was chosen by a great white elephant who carried an enormous statue of Buddha from the city of Chaing Mai bellow.
