The taxi to the airport this morning was a drama. We had booked a taxi last night for a 9AM pick up this morning but they gave our taxi to other guests and we watched them drive off at 8:50. Then their taxi came and it was twice the price of our taxi and it was just all a big kafuffle. Luckily Mum and Carolyn, being there usual selves, planned on getting us all there 5 hours before our flight so it was ...

It's so unpleasant getting wet like that on a boat and having to sit there wet in your clothes, it would have been alright if the sun was pounding down on us but it was in hiding so it wasn't cool. It was then that I noticed an Australian family in the common area and we started chatting, doing so for quite a while actually. It was nice to talk to people from back home as it had been a while. After we finished chatting it was time for me to get back to my hut to finish packing ready for my departure the next day. I was heading to Koh Lanta and I couldn't wait!

... bleary eyed we headed for the beach to cool off and recover in the fresh air. The contrast between the morning and when had been in the afternoon the previous day was surprising; the tide further out you were able to walk for hundreds of metres from the shore and be less than your waist in the water but also the busy feel wasn't there with people obviously still in bed. It was nice to be able to relax and perhaps see how Phi Phi used to be when it got its paradise tag. ...

... with the website as we seemed to be taking 1 step forwards and 3 steps back, in the end we gave up and just decided we would head to Hat Yai in the morning as planned and try get the train and if we couldn't we'd just spend a night in Hat Yai and get the train on Saturday instead. We had tea then skyped Matty's mum and my parents, packed and sorted ourselves ready for our 5am wake up call! We didn't finish sorting and talking to everyone till 1am so very little sleep was ...
