The taxi to the airport this morning was a drama. We had booked a taxi last night for a 9AM pick up this morning but they gave our taxi to other guests and we watched them drive off at 8:50. Then their taxi came and it was twice the price of our taxi and it was just all a big kafuffle. Luckily Mum and Carolyn, being there usual selves, planned on getting us all there 5 hours before our flight so it was ...

... I quickly climbed aboard. It wasn't long before we reached Bamboo island, but again it was bombarded with tours. It was however a very beautiful island, around 500m wide and less than 1km in length, with white sandy beaches, and perfect clear waters. ... a relatively small island and is home to the world famous Maya bay, the backdrop to "The Beach" staring the lovely Leo. Our first stop was "monkey beach" which was quite frankly pants, monkeys being thrown cans of coke and chocolate, it was about as authentic as a zoo. Thankfully it got much better when we cruised on over to Pileh Bay for a swim and snorkel. Pileh Bay was amazing with karsts rising up all around and clear water the colour of emerald. After Peleh Bay we ...

... a little scared at first but it was quite safe. Every one there claimed a rock as their own perch and looked out across the island. It was nice just to sit there and stare. Next to the view point was a little convenience store to buy water and snacks etc. There was a little Thai guy called Penoi who we got friendly with, he owned the store. Very funny, strange kinda guy. He was telling us that the day the tsunami hit, he was walking back up the hill from the shops and the ...
