Last day in Bali
... zero" memorial of the 2002 terrorist bombings that killed 202 people and stopped all tourists from the area for a year. The memorial had a wall with all the names and countries of the people who died; including 80 Australians, 40 Indonesian and 2 Canadians. Very devastating for Bali and rocked the world. The main bomb was detonated by a suicide bomber while others linked to the attacked were captured and eventually executed. Definitely a sobering moment to see this memorial. Our ...
Two days left for Team Canada
... so no wander they've got traffic problems. No one uses public transit; only motorbikes. We saw up to four people on these bikes including babies and moms sitting side saddle on the back through heavy traffic. Apparently India and Vietnam Nam are worse for traffic but it's hard to imagine. Police here, set up road blocks to check licences and if you don't have one you pay cash to the police to keep going.
