... mention bear frequent the asphalt highways. The grazers come to get their mineral fix by licking the remnants of winter salt off the asphalt. Bear graze near the highways. Yes, they are great to view and take pictures of but not so great to have lying inside your vehicle after a collision.
So I think that's all the wisdom I can impart at the moment. If you choose to travel to Alaska or western Canada, slow down, enjoy the flora and fauna and most of all- have a great time!

After our busy day of learning, we decided to cool off in the Truckee River. We grabbed some inner tubes at the gas station and hopped in the river near our resort.
