... happened. For a few days we saw over a 100 hot air balloons lift up into the air. And airplanes race by in groups of about 10.
We decided to go hiking early that morning. Charlie Flo cancelled his date and we both scrambled to get our weekend errands done before heading off into the woods.
The plan was to hike 25 miles of the Rim to Reno trail to the top of the 10,800 ft Mt Rose.

We woke up in our fantastic hotel room that Mum had booked ages ago and we decided to have breakfast in bed,our only room service so far. It was great and everyone had a good brekky.
Then we walked through the hotel and had a look at the pool. It was an inside/outside pool which was cool. We then walked down to the lake to have a look before going back to put our swimmers on for a swim in the inside/outside ...
... we hope they got out okay.
After the very long drive it was late by the time we got to Lake Tahoe and we could only just see the lake which is huge the town is busy all year as they play on the lake during summer and then ski in winter, we passed some very big houses.
We were looking forward to waking in the morning and seeing the lake.

... incessant fog does not allow you to get a good view. But then, if you get the opportunity to visit her everyday you realize that her beauty lies in her giving you a different view each day, if not every other hour as her gown of fog shifts and changes. I had the opportunity to ride over her most mornings while in SF and captured a few pics. As for the rest of the pics, they should speak for themselves of a view worth taking ...
It was bye bye San Francisco and hello open road again. We drove north again and stopped off to catch up with Zoe Wheatley at the dressage stables she is based at which was lovely and functional and her boss seemed like a very nice lady.
