Day 22 - Gatlingburg - Tennessee
... NSW, on a larger scale accompanied by a lot of bible bashing and patriotism. The problem is that I'm neither a devoted god loving Christian nor am I American, but the majority were and they are the target market. I went to two different shows, one gospel the other country (or hillbilly) and in both the order went God, then veterans, then God bless America, with a hand on the heart standing ovation for an anthem style ...

I passed one store called "God's Corner" only to cross the street and ...

We learned during our visit that it was PEAK time to see the changing leaves, and they were GORGEOUS! (See my main blog picture for a great example of the colors...was ideal at the bottom of the mountains, but as we went up, the trees had already lost their leaves...)

We also stopped at the big tulip poplar tree with a hole so big, at least two people can fit inside. But we didn't go too fast, because there were just too many opportunities for beautiful pictures of ...

Historical Traveler Reviews MountainLoft Resort Gatlinburg
Overall an ok place to stay
We stayed at MountainLoft during our Spring Break and had a relatively
nice time. Due to the rainy days we were limited to many of the
activities that we had scheduled, however, we made the best of it. The
resort did have a few things planned however, they also were limited in
what they could do due to the weather. Overall, it was a nice change of
pace. I would return to this resort during a different time of the
year. One major concern that we did have was for the cleanliness of the
bathroom.
I did mention it to the staff and asked to have them clean the room again for us.
Needs repairs
We are members of the Blugreen Resorts and from our own point of view and the comments that we have read at this web site gives us very mixed feelings about referring Mountain Loft to our friends and family. We have stayed at Mountain Loft only once, and I was terribly dissapointed. The couch was badly stained, the microwave busted up, the dishwasher did not work, the door trim in lower bedroom was badly damaged. The carpeted floors were very dirty and it was obvious that the bedspread had not been washed in quite a while. It was very dirty, we did not want to sleep under it. The bathtub was dirty and you could wipe a paper towel over it and it turned black. We did not even feel clean using the shower. All adds indicated it was a 5 star, but it was not.
Terrible stay with mountain loft resort
I agree mountain loft is a very dirty place to stay. We tried to stay there, but we were so upset about the condition of our room, that we left
Wow!!!
mountain loft is a wonderfull place to stay, it is so pretty! we have stayed three times and every time it is peacefull and gorgous....unbeleiveable...you would not regret staying here! it is the best!!!
Always a nice trip
My family and I are on our third trip here and are very pleased with the accomidations . We are a Blue Green Owner but this is not our home resort . It gives you the feeling of seclusion without the drive .
I come back here every year for a reason! ! !
Since 2000, I began a tradition with my daughter who is 10, by bringing her to Mountain Loft every year, the week of Thanksgiving. We shop together, and have a great time. There is a reason we keep coming back to Mountain Loft.... and not only she and I vacation there. My husband and I come for a romantic getaway at least one long weekend of the year. It's perfect. We have never had any problems, other than not having time to stay longer than we want! The staff there are wonderful.
They go out of their way to make the trip fabulous. In fact, we are leaving day after tomorrow to go back! I can't wait to get there, and I know I never have to worry about my accomodations! I'll never stay in a roach motel again!...... and yes... I became a Bluegreen owner.
Nice to get away
We were looking for a nice gettaway and found it at mountain loft we really enjoyed being alone without tons of people around.
Needs cleaning
the unit was too small. the carpet was badly stained. It had not been dusted. The bedspread was filthy.I was very uncomfortable.
Not a 5 star!!!!!!
We made reservations thinking this was a 5 star resort. It is more like a 2 or 3 star. Room was not vacuumed. Daughter killed a spider in the bathtub, so it had not been cleaned. Found easter eggs and candy wrappings under diningroom table. Bedspread was very faded and full of lint balls. We were so disappointed we didn't even unpack. When we notified management we were displeased and wanted to leave this room; they refused to put us in another room and didn't refund our full payment. This was a $159 + tax room per night and it was compariable to a $69 room. We went to the Gatehouse condos for $150 per night and got 2 full bedrooms, 2 baths, full size kitchen with marble kitchen countertops, cherry cabinets, wet bar, and a total of 1400 sq. ft. of luxury with covered parking. That's a 5 star room!
Several trips to Mt. Loft
We have been a Mt Loft owner sence 4/87, our 10th Anniversary. We have taken several trips and had a great time, EVERYTIME. I like the privacy for each unit, you feel like you are alone in the mountains, but have great neightbors you meet at the club house, if you would like to. It is close to town, and on a main highway, we have gone several time in the winter, and have no fear of being snowed in.
