... well situated for visiting the wineries of Sonoma.

After a great breakfast in Railroad Square we were off to Ferrari-Carano, high on our list to visit and again it did not disappoint. Another impressive wine and tasting room. I think it has replaced Raymond as Patty's favorite wine. Raymond Burr winery was just down the road but closed so we moved on to Silver Oak. Lest you think we ...

... destination home for the next 3 months!

The last 20mins from dinner to Finch Court I spent nervous and trying to reassure myself that my host family would be great and super welcoming and that I had nothing to worry about, to stress about or to be nervous about. ... through the Valley and was fairly reminiscent of Hawkes Bay wine country, but with grander wineries. So we continued on to the park and sorted out a campsite.  Once organised we rode back into St Helena for a walk around the town and to have a late lunch (4pm).  We gave Market a go and I had a tomato and watermelon salad (weird right?) which was absolutely delicious. Finishing our meal we went by the supermarket to pick up some dinner snacks.  Then ...

... took it real easy, ate breakfast, and drank lots of water. Then we prepared our selves with lots of water and pretzels to eat in between the wineries. We also determined that we didn’t need to drink all the wine poured during the tastings, we only needed to taste a small sip and it was polite to pour the rest of it in the waste buckets. This would ensure we could make it through the day without being drunk. Our first winery we traveled to was Michael Mondovi. ...
