... cup thing, that came with a alcoholic slushy drink which was disgustingly sweet. You can use the cup to get refills around the strip. We had dinner at a burger place in Harrah before heading off to catch a bus to the Fremont Street Experience. The lights were so bright! and pretty spectacular, we wandered the pedestrian mall and turns out we had arrived at a good time as the light show was about to start. Before the show starts all the building lights turn ...

... us to Russian River, even though we asked her to take us to Sonoma. GPS FTW! Thankfully, Kayla caught this before we'd gone too far. The areas of Napa & Sonoma were as lovely as I'd been told and the drive took us through many vineyards and alleys of trees. What a hot day though! In Sonoma, we toured the last Mission built in California, learning a lot about California history that I hadn't known before (or maybe I'd forgotten) ...

The fort was under the bridge and it was really windy there but we saw some great views of the bridge and the fort. Finally, we drove across the bridge and stopped at the same place where we were 10 years ago - this time we were able to ...

... what to expect :-). As an added bonus, the tastings were gratis, perhaps because it came up in conversation that we were on our honeymoon? We continued back to the campground on the Silverado Trail, stopping in St Helena to pick up dinner supplies.  Back at the campground we did a hike up to Coyote Peak taking around 90mins, but didn't spot any coyotes or mountain lions.  Then it was time for dinner and a few more card games before turning in for the ...

We drove from the east coast of California to the famous Napa Valley. I was super excited about this stop in our trip as I have always wanted to come to the California wine country (well ever since I got into wine). We found a state park that was in the northern part of the Napa Valley, Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, and called when we were on the road to check for availability. The lady said they had a site for the night but were full for the weekend, yikes. We decided we ...
