It was hard work getting up, but the bridal shower was at 9am, so toddled over to join the ladies and see the lovely gifts they had bought for the girl. More food and drinks!

Very glad to go back to the suite to chill out in peace and quiet.I'm afraid a room full of women talking and not terribly quietly, my head ached.

She was my rock through all the ups and downs, especially of that first year of college and it was thus especially difficult to say goodbye to her, because it was then that I realized I wouldn't have my "security blanket" with me in NY... Dammit, here come the **almost** tears again... I spent most of Thursday with ...

Met up with John in San Jose and said our goodbyes. Hoping to squelch those miles to San Diego.

Took hwy 101. It was traffic for a long while.. Got glimpses of the oceanic oil fields and random "small towns" inland of the coast.

Called Portos ahead of time.. but they were closed :(
