... what I expected. Expansive pools with the water park/slides on the side. A larger RedLane Spa than Sandals Negril (nice, very nice). 9 treatment rooms + a couples massage room. They also offer a very nice 2nd floor waiting room for couples.
The property currently is awaiting a new GM so I didn't get to meet one.
The kids club could be a bit larger as it ...
... Beaches Guest lounge. Customs on arrival was also effortless, uncrowned and plenty of customs agents to proceed through quickly. (This hasn’t always been my experience). The transfer left for Negril approximately 20 minutes after my arrival in the lounge. Just enough time to grab a quick drink and cookie and head out to our car awaiting. Private car that is. I arrived at a time when I was the only one ...
Negril, Jamaica msandy1024... having to cover ourselves in mozzie repellent every evening) and it will of course be great to catch up with everyone, but nonetheless we are sad to be leaving this corner of the world behind us. Such is life.
Yesterday was typically lovely, with a trip into Negril (for postcards and a quick look at the famous 7 mile beach) then back here for an awesome massage, before watching sunset from a private hot-tub. An average Friday, I guess ...
... the sea (we saw some dolphins as we were having lunch) before heading to the "Sands" - the resort bar, if you like - for sundowners and a spectacular sunset. Dinner was superb.
Yesterday we went on our snorkelling trip (with guide Paul) through some of the caves, which was awesome. There was a bit of diving down to swim under rocks to get into 'secret' caves which was fun. We spent the afternoon relaxing, and then wandered over to a local bar ("Rick's cafe") for ...
... the setting of this place is quite amazing - and the "resort" (feels wrong to use that word) looks lovely. Lots of spots for jumping off the cliffs into the sea, and our room is very cool. Tomorrow we will snorkel, and have dinner in a cave. All good! Drinks and food both look amazing. The weather is hot and sunny, with the odd tropical downpour (these never last long). Lunch time now, so I have to dash. See/speak to you all next week. Much love, D&K
Negril, Jamaica daveandkate... de gjor er fordi, under engelsk styre ble det fraktet slaver fra afrika til jamaica for aa jobbe paa jordene. Negril, Jamaica elinolsennalumI spent almost a week in Negril, a long stretch of beaches along the western tip of Jamaica. Very popular with tourists. I walked the beach several times and I've been annoyed by the "farmers" and the like on a regular basis. They are sometimes aggressive. Better to walk along the road than the beach at night to/from the restaurant for obvious reasons. Nice sunsets.
Negril, Jamaica gratien... and peas(Jamaicans call them peas, but they're actually beans) and marinated tomatoes. The Red Stripe beer was flowing freely; tourist-guests and locals were milling about. Because I don't drink beer, I purchased a mickey of "Q" of rum (most of which went home with me). The cheering in the bar was deafening when the underdog NY Giants defeated the New England Patriots. It was a loud and rather tipsy group that made their way back to their accommodations for the night.
Negril, Jamaica kimandmartin... from Alabama who were there for the honeymoon also. The Alabama couple were both insurance adjusters who were working in Mississippi after Katrina. The guy was from Fayetteville, and happened to hear us say we were from North Carolina. There was live entertainment with a steel band, singing, dancers, contortionists, and fire breathers. Skippy and the others on the entertainment crew were dressed as pirates and really worked the crowd. It was a great way to end our days at Couples.
