... were we didn't let it spoil our night and indeed we had stumbled on a secret war between hotel and an interloping fish eaterie. Also it was fab for people watching for two reasons - firstly we could see, from our table the look of dismay on new arrivals who had obviously spoken to Patty earlier and secondly we marvelled at the fashion statements made by some of the other diners and speculated that most of them must have booked ...

... a latte in the courtyard. It was not quite as warm today...just 25 or so. Then we had a beer at a touristy Mexican restaurant...Las Conzeulas Terraza .....not exciting so we stopped for a great pizza at Michaels at The River... Then back to the hotel for a soak in the hot tub and now we are enjoying the warm evening on the balcony and sipping a glass of Kim Crawford..still partially cloudy but we hope to get up early tomorrow and hike up at The Thousand Palms ...

I came into Palm Desert annoyed but was still set in awe when I crossed the Arizona California Border. For the past week, I've been dealing with ants and plenty of them. I had to ant proof my camper and soon as there was no sign of them there, an ant army began to invade the truck through the air vents as the AC blasted me in this awfully hot weather. Today was my first full day at Neuras. We had breakfast from 7:00-8:00: cereal, bread, jam, the usual. BUT we do get complimentary hot chocolate here, which is so nice. A bigger variety of tea is also available along with coffee (which we hade at the farm).

Then we divided into two groups. One group went with the Matt the runs Neuras and the other group went with the Matt that is the Duke student.

... desert which attracts more Ravens. One hiking trail from our campground was closed just recently because the trail had been destroyed by vandalism. Rocks were chipped, thrown and vegetation destroyed. They don’t know when it will be opened again especially with all the National Park budget cuts.
